Eibach Prokit E10-20-031-05-22
I have narrowed down my suspension refresh for my 340ix to Koni Special Actives and either the E10-20-031-05-22 prokit springs or the E10-20-031-06-22 (Slightly less lowering upfront vs. the "05" version).
Does anyone have pics, measurements, feedback on either? I am leaning towards E10-20-031-05-22, just want to avoid constant bottoming out on NY roads. Yes I will be using shorter f80 bumpstops and all new hardware. Thanks in advance...pics with either of these (Koni+Prokit) would be extremely helpful. 6-22, higher front spring rate for x-drive transfer case(weight), not as low(as 5-22)
5-22, slightly lower than 6-22 up front. some have on x-drive although it is their RWD kit. rear springs are the same for each kit, thus same rear lowering at rear https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1675667 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1501682 |

The 5-22 and the 6-22 are both spec's for x-drive vehicles, but as you mention the only difference between the two being the front springs 5-22 front = F11-20-030-03-VA, Wire diameter: 13.2mm, Length: 235mm 6-22 front = F11-20-031-06-VA, Wire diameter: 13.2mm, Length: 250mm 5-22 and 6-22 rear springs are F11-20-031-03-HA, Wire diameter: 14.2mm, Length: 300mm I am hoping to find some better comparison photos with the 5-22 additional 15mm drop upfront and paired specifically with Konis (as Billy's tend to add a bit more height upfront). The more I think about it, I feel like the 5-22 if for B8s while the 6-22 is for Konis, since Eibach says they achieve the same lowering...lol This is what happens when I over analyze |

i have a m-performance suspension so my limited knowledge on Eibach, Koni and suspension in general, comes from what i've read here...
johnung told me he's considering going from 6-22 to 5-22 or possibly a complete change to KW coilovers. maybe he can chime in here as he's done a lot of suspension research has a lot of info from FaRKle! and is an admitted "over analyzer" also, lol. |

I know my real answer is to go KW Street comfort, but I prefer the reliability and ease of set-up in a traditional spring/strut combo, coupled with getting the most comfortable "lowered" ride. I know lowering and comfort do not necessarily go hand in hand, but would love to land at the right 10-20% firmer than stock balance. My buddy has a 328dx on KW v3, it's not for me...potholes hurt in that thing. Last edited by dmanb2b; 02-21-2022 at 01:40 PM.. |

I have the 05-22 springs and Koni sport yellows for my 435d Gran coupe but they’re currently in my garage waiting for me to fit them. I did ponder the 06-22 springs for the reason of less front drop but technically the 05-22 kit seems to be the one listed for my car.
If I decide it can take being 15mm higher without looking bad then I’ll potentially change the front springs again. I’ll post before and after pics and measurements when I do fit them but suspect that could be a few weeks yet. |

Here are before/after/side profile pics of my 335i XDrive with Koni Special-Active and Eibach E10-20-031-06-22 springs. Started from non-adaptive/non-M Sport stock suspension. I had them installed back in November along with new monoball front upper and lower control arms, front and rear sway bars, and end links.
Like you I settled on the Koni/Eibach setup after reading multiple reviews that they would add a lot of performance upside with a mild drop, while maintaining everyday drivability...which for me is especially important in the 3 1/2 season urban environment I daily drive this car in. I still need to post a review of my suspension refresh, but I can say after 4 months I'm very happy with the Koni SA/Eibach 06-22 combo. As many on the forum have remarked, this setup on an XDrive gets you to the approximate ride height and fender/wheel gap as a non-XDrive...which was exactly what I was looking for. Visually the car definitely looks lower than before...but not "lowered" if that makes sense. I'd say Eibach's advertised -0.8" front/-0.6" rear drop is accurate. Unfortunately I didn't take before/after measurements but hopefully the pics are informative. In terms of performance, I've seen a significant and very noticeable upgrade over the soft/bouncy factory ride. I have noticed I'm more susceptible to scrapping the underside of the M Performance splitter on my front bumper, especially going in and out of parking garages. It's not a huge issue, just something I've had to become more mindful of...and it's easily mitigated by slowing down or approaching/departing from an angle. Lastly, I haven't experienced any bottoming out/rubbing. Roads here (DC) are decent...not great, not terrible...but like most mid-Atlantic/east coast cities potholes can be a major issue after snowfalls and plowing. I'm careful to avoid those as I'm sure most of us here are. |

My old e90 was on prokit springs and koni yellows and one downfall was that the front settled way too much...decisions, decisions :>). Anyhow much appreciated. This is exactly the type of feedback I was looking for and hoping to compile for others in a similar quest. |

If I could hit appreciate 100 times, I would. That's great...now I'm back to where I started. I think I may just take a shot and go with extra 10-15mm lower springs...haha. Hopefully we get a few more posts here...I have another day or two until I finalize my parts list.
Again, thank you. |

GuestBen I agree with dmanb2b appreciate your feedback and the pictures, this is a great help!!
Sounds like H&R sway bars have not been an issue? OP I am like you, over analyzing, but I don't want to make the same mistake when I put on H&R springs on my previous F30 328i, it was just too low and did not like the ride. |

dmanb2b happy to help, good luck with the decision!
Dave340 I saw your reply/question on my first thread (https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...hp?t=1872255); regrets for not replying there. Bottom line the misses can't tell a difference at all. Then again she drives the car 1 day a week on average, me every day. And she probably doesn't drive above 40mph. So everything's relative of course...to me the package of upgrades makes a massive difference in overall driving dynamics/feel. Specifically on the H&R sway bars...they virtually eliminated the excessive slop and body roll the stock F30 suspension is infamous for. While my only other reference point is the stock setup, I haven't found them harsh or overly stiff at all...even with the monoball (SPL) endlinks I combined them with. The car is orders of magnitude more solid feeling and planted in high-G cornering. |

Not specifically what you are looking for unfortunately but here is my F36 lowered with the 05 kit & F80 bumps last month.

The front springs have exactly the same spring rates so the ride should essentially be the same. The -06 lower the front by 20mm under stock. Accordingly Eibach tech support the -05 front springs should drop my front by another 15mm. At the same time I'll swap in the F80 bump stops and change out the rubber spring perches that have 8 years on them. |

Mineral Gray is such a great color. I stress way less about keeping it clean vs my Black Sapphire E90! So far it's great, it's pretty much like stock honestly just lower with less body roll. I have the M adaptive suspension so I kept the struts since the car only has 11k miles.
I do wish it was just a little bit lower but I want to see how it looks once I do a wheel stud conversion, get some spacers and throw my 19s back on. Definitely better than before though. Here's my F36 before the springs with the 4x4 package (lol) & 19s on.
