Hi guys, first time posting. Hope this is the right place!

I recently purchased a used 435i. Couldn't find one in Greece, so I imported it from Germany. I absolutely love it!

I would like to add a few basic mods, starting with wheels. I found some amazing M788 wheels from an M2. Specs: 9.0 x 19 ET 29 | 10.0 x 19 ET 40

I plan on keeping the stock tire width, so 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear

My question is: will I have any rubbing with the M788s if I keep the stock tire width?

If so, it would be a deal-breaker for me, and I will most likely go with some nice 403M wheels I found, which are stock specs 8.0 x 19 ET 36 | 8.5 x 19 ET 47

Any help would be appreciated, as I can't find anyone else who has tried stock tire width on M2 wheels...

Thanks, I like the 437m as well, but they are the same size and offset with the 788m wheels.

Will they fit my 435i without rubbing? (On stock tire width)

Thanks, but all the other threads I found say that there is some rubbing in the front wheels on full lock.

And in all the other threads they fit larger tires.

I haven't found a thread that has the M2 wheels with stock tire width. I am hoping that with the stock tire width there will be no rubbing in any situation.

If anyone has any experience with this setup please let me know

It doesn't matter that they are M2 rims, they have the same specs as 437m rims. No one has issues running stock tires on these rims.

I see that some people mention slight rubbing with the 437m rims on f32s with stock suspension, but no problems on f30s...I will keep scouring the threads for more details.

But if anyone has definitive information please don't hesitate to let me know 😁

if you are NOT x-drive and the tires sizes currently on the M2 rims are 245/35/19 front + 265/35/19 rear, you should just install them.

while some have installed OEM staggered size on M2/3/4 wheels, since 225/40/19 is a 30mm stretch on 9" and 255/35/19 a 20mm stretch on 10" it reduces curb protection, ride comfort and has a less than optimal contact patch and sidewall flex.

Thank you for the information. (I am not xdrive). I am indeed concerned about too much tire stretch on OEM tires, however I read that it is ok. On the limit, but ok. I wasn't aware that tire stretch affects ride comfort as well...🤔

On the other hand many say that 245s in front rub at full steering lock
I am also concerned about too much wheel poke out of the fenders. 🫤

Maybe I should just go with 788M replicas which are 8.5 & 9.5 inches wide...do you have any opinion on replica wheels? I would prefer OEMs, but I don't want to sacrifice too much (too much tire stretch and too aggressive offsets...)

some 255/35 may rub at full lock. 245/35/19 will not. any possibility you can put them on to verify for youself, right there?

if you can determine who is manufacturing the replica i can give you better advice. generally, i prefer reputable aftermarket flow formed/forged wheels over replicas because they are typically low-pressure cast(or lower) manufactured in china.

forged 788M and 437M, 763M have exactly the same specs. 19x9 et29, 19x10 et40. imo the best tire size combinations to use for F3/4 series are
235/40/19 + 265/35/19
245/35/19 + 285/30/19
255/35/19 + 265/35/19, this setup has more front poke than i prefer.

please review this thread below. there's every combination possible including OEM that are stretched.

The OEM 788Ms I have found have Michelin Pilot Cup 2s on them, 245/35/19 and 265/35/19

I could try them stationary for rubbing, but I doubt I can take them for a good drive before purchasing.

I was hoping to stay no wider than 255 in the rear, however I will consider your advice, and read through the threads you sent me, and I will see...

I also put the wheels BMW 788 with the following tires on my BMW F36 (420i):

Front: 225/40/19
Back: 255/35/19

Anyway, when I'm driving fast on the highway the car starts to swing like on the boat

The problem are most likely the front tires 225 on 9" wheel because they are a bit stretch.

So my question is should I be worried about the car "swinging" on the highway and less comofort or it's just normal?

I ended up NOT fitting M788 wheels after all.

After reading several posts from others with rubbing issues, I decided not to risk it.

My understanding is that fitting M788 wheels on a F32 car is 95% fine under normal driving, however there will be some rubbing under 5% of driving conditions (hard cornering or full lock).

Eh i just fitted 437ms 255/35 front 285/35 rear and get zero rubbing issues, plus I’m lowered 1-1.5 inches. This is a RWD f32.

No Rubbing, i have 437m. Stock suspension. 225 40 19 up front, 255 35 at the rear. No rubbing on full lock etc. Also don't look that stretched. I plan to lower it soon. But stock tyre sizes are fine.
