So the cars back to us all fixed (fully rebuilt turbo & a few pipes replaced as well as the rocker gasket)
Just given it a thorough clean inside, contactless wash outside, all door shuts, glass and wheels/tyres towel dried and tyres treated New Brembo discs, OEM BMW pads and oil & filter changed yesterday. Fitted new black wheel bolts today & binned the rusty, cruddy OEM ones and the locking wheel nuts! Ready for it's first road trip tomorrow to the Highlands for the week |

I love a silver F31/F30 It was my first choice of colour when I was on the hunt, but I couldn't find one in the spec I wanted and within my budget, so settled on an Estoril blue one. A bit common but still quite a nice colour.
Did dropping to 18s reduce the tramlining / steering tug? Mine came with 443Ms and I hate how the car tugs and twitches all over the place. I'm considering ditching the 19" run flats and going with normal tyres, but if they don't improve that, I might just get a set of 400Ms and be done with it! |

I like 19s, they look spot on but you lose the comfort and handling IMO The 18s fitted are winters and RFTs... But still a much better ride. I've sorted another set of 18s for summer tyres (non RFTs) and will probably get a new set of non RFT winters later this year too... For the roads local to us, 18s are perfect. Wouldn't be confident with 19s and rubber band tyres |

With adaptive suspension the ride is soooo much better than without, regardless of wheel sizes and tyres.
After being used to M-sport on (very) stiff springs with 19s and manual shocks, my 440 with adaptive is a revelation TBH. VSS helps with the front end too! |

I haven’t found the ride too harsh at all…
Then again I’ve owned E39 5’ers on either brand new OEM Sport suspension or coilovers since 2011 with a couple of us series in between… But my preference is 18s, just prefer the looks and comfort/handling |

The car played a blinder on its first road trip in our ownership yesterday up to the Highlands…
Averaged just under 48MPG along the M6/M74/M80/A9 etc which isn’t bad at all I don’t think Plenty comfy enough and more than enough torque to overtake when necessary and most of the journey was on autopilot The 18” RFT winters are very good TBH; very comfy but I’ll still look to change them for some new non RFT winters sometime later this year when winter tyre prices are lower |

Cheers - well unfortunately we're home as I started with a fecking chest infection/flu symptoms on the Sunday & spent Monday & Tuesday in bed! The wife's caught it but not as bad; her Dad unfortunately is really rough with it and her Mum going downhill with it... Absolute tw@t! Anyway; Ali drove a blinder back home yesterday as I was in no fit state to drive, but it managed 49.8MPG on the way home; nigh on fully loaded as we'd hardly used anything... I'd say that's about right for the 325D from what I've read; very windy conditions too and on winter tyres... I reckon it'd be a touch more on summer tyres and not as loaded etc; better weather too |

Seeing this thread has made me wistful for my old 335d, this came on 19's but for the last few months of ownership I ran it on these 18's. Much preferred.

The road trip and week away to the Highlands got cut short unfortunately; we all ended up with a rotten chest infection and it's still trying to wipe me out now...
Should have been back tomorrow, but we came home Wednesday and todays the first day I've left the house (albeit to clean both the cars) That's about as much fresh air as I can take without coughing myself inside out Anyways; Racing Jazz fully washed and cleaned inside & out; then onto the touring... Poor bloody thing got covered in all sorts of salty shite on the M6/M74/M80/A9 etc... It's been deep cleaned inside & then it's had a full BH snowfoam session, I've gone over the panels with GTechniq W6 Iron & Fallout remover, rinsed, snowfoamed again, rinsed, hand washed, rinsed, AGs Polar Seal applied and then towel dried... Tyres treated with Gyeon Q2 tyre gel and parked it up the drive, out of harms way

Tyres fitted and balanced
Will get them fully washed and protected this weekend and probably fitted to the car, temps are on the up now so no need for the winters any more

I cannot stand gloss black, but always liked satin black. Much easier to keep clean too
