Has anyone tried these lights? I know a lot of folks are against anything non oem but imo these add a nice modern look to our aging cars. Very similar to the current G20 styling. I’m eyeing some G30 looking tail lights which look awesome and probably a 6wb digital cluster as well to add to the “modern make over”.

Looked at the post on Ali, same as you show. There is one feedback with a photo of installed headlights on black F30/31 (hard to tell). The blue inserts are of much brighter color than advertised by the seller. They do match Azure Blue color and are non-metallic very "plastic" looking on that photo. Personally, if the inserts were darker (navy blue) color, the headlights would look good on both bright and dark color cars - almost like Shadowline appearance.
Also, these are not Adaptive and can not replace OEM adaptive headlights.

You make a good observation that blue is MUCH brighter than the ad. And that plastic looks suspect. Sucks because the shape of these look damn good to me. I like how there’s no eyelid so the actual light design is stretched throughout the entire headlight surface area. Looks like they tried to copy the blue inserts on the facelift G20 headlights but went a little overboard with it lol. My car is mineral gray, so I ride that line between light accents and darks accents pretty well. I also have halogens so I wouldn't be losing any oem features. Hmmm still conflicted

I would say 95% of these headlight sellers are chopping used parts of out genuine headlights, then frankensteining them into F30 / F32 housings, that's exactly how the F32/F82 fake icons work.. they're G30 internals.

What you're getting is probably some of the DRL's and then a basic projector for the high/low beam taken out of a totally different car - this isn't to discredit some of them, like these have potential to make the F30 front end fresh, there's also some offering the laser projectors but those are only available via the custom manufacturers.

They look garish and for those old enough, APC /Pepboys to me.

If my kid wanted to get these on his 328d to replace his halogens, I’d direct him ot spend his hard earned money elsewhere on a better quality part.

I think it is not legally to drive in Europe with modified headlight. Maybe it is not the case in US.
The first one also looks a little too weird.

In the US legality doesn’t affect reality.

Many places no longer even have annual inspections. Texas is doing away with them at emd of year, except you will still have to pass obd2 check if in an emissions County and it’s petrol engined (diesels never had emissions checks).
In short, here it’s do what you want, legal smeagle, unless you piss off the EPA or California.

In most states the only requirement of the headlights is that they work.
