F30 8hp45 XHP question
Hello!
I'm running XHP stage 3 on my f30 n20, and I have a question about the operation of the DEC switch logic. XHP claims that when using stage 2 or 3, the DEC switch (eco pro, comfort, sport, sport+) changes only the shift speed and the lever (D/S) changes the shift points. As in this screenshot: But on my car if you set «sport» or «sport+» on DEC switch or «traction» or «dsc off» mode, the transmission in any case gets into mode with higher shiftpoints, regardless of the lever position (D or S). On snow-covered roads, it often happens that you only need to turn off dsc, without changing the shiftpoints (like on stage 1 or stock maps). But now it is impossible on stage 2 and 3. In other words, I have access to low shift points (lever D-mode) only in modes Eco pro and Comfort. In all other modes, low shift points are completely absent, regardless of the lever in D position, the transmission uses S-mode shift points. I hope I have described the situation clearly. The main question is that I misunderstand the instructions of the XHP and everything works properly, or is there some kind of bug specifically on my car. Please tell me how the DEC switch and the DSC off button work on your car with 8hp transmission (XHP stage 2/3 flashed, of course), to compare with mine. Thank you in advance |

It depends on the budget and the desired results. You can do everything at once. But if you want to start with one thing, then I would recommend starting with the engine tune, BM3 or MG Flasher.

2018 F30 B46 here with xHP, running Stage 2. I have low shift points in lever-D mode for all the DEC switch positions. I would actually prefer it to behave like yours
![]() Also in D-mode, it upshifts at 2k rpm on light throttle or coasting no matter what I do with the Shiftmap Editor. I ended using lever-S mode with earlier shiftpoints to dial in what I want, and using manual mode if I want to hold gears longer. Try emailing them, they are usually quite responsive. |

Interesting. I already have the downshifts ranging raging from +18% to +12%. What kind of numbers are you referencing? Thanks.

I want to collect statistics on how the DEC logic works on other cars and send them for comparison. By the way, it would be cool if the XHP created the ability to configure the DEC logic in the flash settings ![]() |

So I have not driven in D-mode for a long time and decided to try it out today. I noticed when I switch from DEC Comfort to Sport, it actually does hold the gears a little longer... typically one gear lower than Comfort. Also, when driving at a steady speed, shifting to DEC Sport causes a downshift. I wonder if xHP did an update, I don't remember this behaviour before. The difference is not as pronounced as the stock setup though.
