Closed Borla Atak full catback vs Remus Axleback

I have a guy that wants to sell me a Borla atak catback for 550 but I wasn't too impressed with the sound clips on YouTube. Some of those clips do not mention if they got stock downpipe or aftermarket also. There doesn't seem to be a lot of praise for this exhaust

When it comes to remus, I'm pretty impressed with the sound clips and black Friday is coming up. I would most likely get just the axle back and not the tips. Not really a fan of the tips and not care about my valves always open. I would have to pay a exhaust shop to do the piping.

Do you guys think I should go for the catback or the remus axle back?

Hey Mike quick question. I currently have the Dinan midpipe paired up with the stock axle-back on my 340i. I was wondering if the Remus axle-back would work with the Dinan midpipe?

Not without modification. The muffler pipe will need to be expanded to fit over the dinan mp. In my case the remus pipe cracked and needed to be welded. Easily handled by an exhaust shop, but pita if you don't have the tools at home. That said the sound of a HF catted dp, dinan mp and remus muffler is glorious

Cool thank you for that information. Are you saying the Remus and Dinan line up properly and are the same diameter? So just needs to be welded together?

Not sure about Dinan mp but for my stock mp, and crappy muffler delete TO remus. The shop had to cut right before the resonator, weld a pipe to the resonator that has the same shape as the remus (stock midpipe was kinda oval shape and remus was more a circle shape pipe), and clamped/bolted the remus axleback. Also had to weld 2 pipes and tips since I did not like the remus valved tips. Everything was about $480

After 2 days, I went back and deleted my resonator because a HF Catted dp, stock midpipe and Remus axleback was a little too quiet. Sounds almost perfect with a resonator delete, 9/10). 100% better than a crappy muffler delete

I don't want to go catless to get a little bit louder, does anyone know if AWE midpipe will make my setup louder? or basically the same
