Overall it is nice. However it is way to over styled for a BMW. This type of trinket design is something I would expect from Mercedes. Hopefully the production car will be toned down a little.
Also I am extremely disappointed that they named it the 4-Series. I honestly don't see what sane person would pay more for a 4 coupe than a 3 coupe if the only difference is the name. I would rather have the heritage of the 3. |

I can definitely see the resemblance. what's funny is that Kia's is getting all the credit for a styling cue they only modified and didn't really create. The present VW Golf had that lower bumper design before the current Optima. good job on Kia's part.

Me no like the leather texture. BMW traditionally uses the rough-grained leather like my E46 and E92 have, which I think looks fabulous. This leather is shiny and not textured, more like the Lexusy and living-room couch kind of leather.. Hopefully it's only in the concept. Likewise for the funky cupholder.
I do like the Alcantara roof liner, hope that's standard. Love the wood door handle - that's just Quote:

Um... Don't like it. Why is BMW going for a more vulgar and angular appearance? I've always been a fan of understatment, a gentleman's grand tourer, as compared to a car that seems to aim for an audience that prefers frat parties and flash over substance.
And what's with those stupid side "vents"? Not a fan of MB and BMW copying Honda... |

I don't get it. BMW is about function, not form. What happened to their new models discussing engineering and mechanical improvements, and driver quality? This article reads like slobbering soft-core car porn, clearly aimed at the Lexus/Infiniti/Audi (read: non-car-people) market. BMW is losing its way...

I'm sure like the M5 'concept' before it, this is the real car except for the overly odd bumpers. The rear is 100% bmw (it's what the sedan should look like) and the overall shape is baby 6 series, but the front seems droopy and the interior seems busy and doesn't flow like a 6. And wicker cup holders are just weird (I know that's just for the concept but thumbdown

The styling is much better executed than the sedan version F30. BMW always gives the coupe a one-up on styling (think E92 - E90). The chrome trim between the headlight and grille which looks so awkward on the F30 looks beautifully done on the 4 series.
Can't wait for the M4 version of this car...

Guess why..? Because Hyundai/Kia hired their present lead styling designer from VW/Audi..???? And also from BMW..?

As others here have pointed out, this one to me seems overstyled and bulky-looking, yet somehow also bland. I like character lines, but the protrusions on this concept's hood look too added-on, as opposed to being well-integrated. The designs of the E92 and its M-version work much better to me. I do like the F30 fairly well, though not really the "partially exposed" look of the kidneys up front, as BMW is also doing with the i8, etc. So, in all, it doesn't meet my expectations either. More interested in the A5 as my next vehicle. |

So the interior is the exact same as the F30, which I own so obviously I am okay with it. I do hope they offer upgraded leather options in the US for the 4 series coupe and gran coupe (Meaning Nappa/Novillo), and extended leather, that would really make a difference compared to the F30 and distinguish it.
I am guessing lots of things will vanish in the production model, like the rear bumper, expect to see normal tailpipes there... and obviously those wheels will not even be an upgrade option but rather something you can buy after purchase. I also hope they leave LED lights as an option, my sister in law just got them on her freakin Prius V but I couldn't get them on my F30! come on BMW I am just hoping the M4 GC will be out by October 2015, which is when my F30 lease is up! As long as I can build one for under $80K, otherwise its time to look at a M5 (new or used) |
