Changing F30 N55 VCG same as E9X N54?

So I changed the VCG twice on my old E92 with an N54, and in looking at the very few available diagrams that I managed to find on the F30 N55, it seems like a somewhat similar job. Is there anything different, or specific that I need to keep an eye on while doing my F30's VCG? Could I possibly use the E9X N55 DIY since there isn't an F30 one? I didn't want to assume the job was 100% identical and get stuck on something halfway through.. I searched and what not and came back empty handed, and I was a bit hesitant to even ask on here, but someone on here in one of the threads mentioned there are a few less steps with the F30 N55 so I'd just like to get some clarification.. I also noticed some said there are youtube videos and DIY links for the F30 N55, but I cannot locate them so please share if you have one on hand..

Thanks in advance!

The procedure should be very similar. Mine was changed just last week, 55Kml CPO, was leaking at cylinder 6. There are videos on U-tube.

In my work order they replaced vent hose 11127584128 saying it came apart. And flange 11377502022. Something to note if you do it yourself.

Thank you very much for that insight, that's the kind of stuff I was hoping someone would reply with.

Also, I noticed the N54 and N55 injectors are different, as the N54's have the decoupling element that's suggested to be replaced every time the injectors are removed.. Do the N55's require this same process, or can the injectors be installed/removed without needing any seals/gaskets/etc..??

Thanks!

Here is, as looks like, very detailed description for N55 VCG removal, includes picture of the vent pipe that broke in my case..

I did come across that in my search as it was the E9X N55 VCG I referenced in my initial post but to know I can use that as a guide is awesome. Thanks for the reassurance!

Tackling the job this weekend, along with installing my ER catless downpipe and new spark plugs, hoping all goes as planned!

Thanks brother..

I'll most likely create a DIY for the F30 folks since there isn't one around yet that's very detailed. I like to document and stuff anyways, at least now I'll have a purpose behind it, aside from getting rid of this small leaky VCG issue lol..

I've done it on both. It's actually a little easier on the f30 because you can make more room on the firewall side. The fuel rail hookup is a bit different, but it's basically the same process for both. Be careful with the clips when you unbolt the fuel rail - you need to unhook them to get access to the bolt heads.

You'll need crowfoot wrenches in order to properly torque the fuel rail and injector connections, but aside from that it's pretty straight forward. Good luck!

Thanks for that tip, much appreciated! I do have a set of those wrenches and sockets so those will definitely come in handy..!
