Those people would have fun in Milton Keynes where 3 lanes approaching are the norm and the arrows give you a clue which lane to be in...

This rule also applies when joining the Périphérique motorway around Paris. A little disconcerting when you're already on the motorway and are expected to give way to joining traffic.

Rant away...

Improper use (or non-use) of indicators is just one example of the utter stupidity one sees every single day on our roads.

We've got a magic roundabout in Swindon, which can be fun at times.

Child's play. Even Tom Cruise can ride a bike round it the wrong way

The 'architect' who designed that should be sacked. Just enlarge the middle bit and make it a regular roundabout.

I lived in Wiltshire when the magic roundabout was introduced. Not as simple as a large roundabout. Debated to death, but really a clever solution to congestion. The intention was to speed flows and save delays. You sort of bypass some disruption. It does work, been over it hundreds of times in all directions.

Biggest issue is if folks don't signal their intentions. Then that is not new...

the NDR is an awful piece of civil engineering !! so many flaws .
the lanes are not flowing on roundabouts ,encouraging cutting across lanes, the cambers are wrong , the signage is atrocious .
and really people need to learn how to use a dual carriageway , even if it seems like its the road to nowhere .

it was built on the cheap and is not of the same calibre as the southern bypass .

There are some roundabouts with 2 lane approach where on the road or road signs, the left lane is marked turn left and the right lane straight on and turn right. If on the approach to the roundabout the car was initial in the inner lane, signaled right to move to the outer lane, I see nothing wrong as long as he cancelled right signal after completing the move to right lane.

Most drivers just don't have a clue and don't even look at the road sign or the lane direction arrows at all, lack of driver concentration and jabbering away to the passenger and just wander about aimlessly.

...and then there are those who were taught to indicate right then left when roundabouts first came out and haven't moved on in life or updated their skills .... if any.

Agree with OP drives me mad !! just like the numpties on a motorway, indicate once then think they have the right to just pull out in front of you.... and those that have an aversion of using the inside lane.

Drivers in lane #1 'apexing' two lane roundabouts seems to be a favourite.
