Has anyone run into an issue where only one side of the car has howling from the mirror?

My driver side is awful. Passenger side is silent. Same road, same day, same speed - just I swapped seats.

I tried taping over the front windshield to get that out of the way - no improvement. I taped over the left mirror assembly - minor improvement. No obvious seal issues on the door.

However, the weirdest thing - if I put my hand outside the car, between the mirror assembly and the A pillar... silence! No whistling! What the hell is this?? I could not determine any seams that are being covered when I do this; nothing to tape.

Wind noise in cab 320 bmw

Hi there.

I’ve just solved the problem with wind noise on my 320d touring
After check all door seals window seals on passenger front door
It turns out it was the windshield plastic trim on the out side of
The window had a slight gap, which was making a whistling sound
As if the door or window wasn’t closed. Resealed trim problem solved.

This theme is not for whistling sound!
We are talking about wind noise!

Is there any working solution?
Somebody tried to replace the front door seals with the new part number:

Maybe you should go back to the first few pages.

Whistling is wind noise.

Could you please add pictures of this plastic trim and the gap you referred?
How did you resealed this trim?
My wife has a 2014 F30 that don't make wind noise, and I bought a 2017 F30 CPO, couple months ago which makes this noise. I'm trying to get to the source of problem without success so far.

Thanks.

I notice the wind noise in my 2015 320i f30 when I hit 50 mph and then on. Its not that bad with the radio on but when I'm on the freeway its a little annoying. I on occasion drive my families lexus SUV and theres no wind noise at all. It's not worth the money to take it to bmw because if theres no obvious problem the are not going to replace or do anything.

Glad im not the only one thought that experiences the wind noise in the car. overall thought not a huge deal to me.

Nothing new to say, but since it’s been debated for so long, here are pics showing where wind noise originates , I believe you cannot do anything about it
Even wind dampening materials cannot be applied onto those areas

My car 2016 lci.
Has no wind noise but the tires are making a lot of noise
Much more then my e91.
The sound is coming from the back wheels as far as I can find.
Did someone insulated the rear wheel arches? And how did you do it?

Could be wheel bearings. I’m about to embark on that repair soon. Sounds like worn tires moaning, you can isolate by turning at speed. If it gets better/less noisy when turning right, it is the left bearing..turn left and it gets better its the right side bearing.

I already tested with my e91 wheel set from my old car.
No difference in sound
