2014 still on lot.. thoughts?

Local dealer has a 2014 335i pretty loaded still on the lot.. this car is costing them money correct? They still want $49000 for it, MSRP is likely in the mid 50s for this car.

Is a dealer more inclined to get rid of a 2014 on their lot? If I could get a screaming deal on it (has 90 miles) i would probably jump on it instead of buying a 16 320i or a 328i

Thoughts?

I would imagine you could get it down lower if it's a 2014. I would shy away from it personally because it's a 2 (MY) year old car now and you can likely get a fantastic deal on a 2015.

Just my 2 cents. May be able to get a killer lease deal though.

From my experience it can go either way. They may play hard and not negotiate at all or give you a great deal. Just need to approach them as a serious buyer and see what happens.

If it was up to me I'd pick the 335i '14 over a newer 320 or 328.

Thank you guys both. I'm in uncharted waters here. I tried to figure out MSRP and it looks like it was around $56000. If they would go to $45000-$47000 that be a no brainer for me.

Maybe they will let me pull ahead on my lease as well and I might end up making out better.

The 14 335i they have is LOADED. Tech package, cold weather, m sport, premium, nav

The fact that its still sitting there tells me that dealer isnt willing to do what it takes to move it. He probably wont take much less than a 15 or even 16.

That could also be the case, I just messaged them to find out.

If your are ready to buy, offer to take the '14 at the price of a '16 loaded 320? 45k out the door.... And thats generous already...

Take into consideration of the depreciation once you have the car...

Its a '14!

Yes, at least $10K, but more like $12K off MSRP.
At my dealership 1 model year old 3's, 4's, and 5's easily get $10K off MSRP once there are new model year cars on the lot.

For a 2014 with 2016's here and more arriving you should get below that discount. Even though the mileage is great, those 2 model years reflect in resale later if you're doing a cash or loan purchase.

Happy shopping.

Aren't you looking for a lease? If so,you cannot lease a '14.

I just found out the 2014 has 10,000 miles on it, and was a demo.

They want $44900 for it..

thoughts?

It depends on if you want to finance or lease. Financing a '14 wouldn't be a bad idea because you still have 3 (or so?) years of warranty. Plus if it's cpo you have another 2 years.

I would vote to finance if you can still get the 0.91%

Too high.

Check eBay for used '14's -- I found a couple M sport ones with similar mileage asking $40-$42k and that's asking price. Original MSRP was almost $60k too.

I would expect ~$18-20k off sticker.

I agree , I've found that dealers either want to let it go or won't budge. Thus if you go in there as a serious buyer and they can't lower the price more than 2k (being its 2014) then just go for your initial buy of the newer 328i or 320

Get them closer to 40k and take the deal. Or tell them you want an extended warranty in at that price.

I heard from another member that he was able to apply new car residual and MF to lease demo cars, and the negotiated purchase price was obviously much lower than MSRP since it is a used car. He got SMOKING deals from leasing ex-demos. Not sure if this same thing applies to a demo that is 2 model years old, or if it is truly still considered a "demo" or just a used car at this point

Demo's leases are at most 1 year old. 2 years the residual will be too low for it to be worth it your better off buying.
