Blaque diamond on 340i? Yay or nay?

Hi guys! So I have the chance to get a good deal on blaque diamond BG23 in 20" for my new 340i sunset orange! Wheels are wrapped in nexen 7000 245-35-20 and 275-30-20.

I just don't know the brand. Is it good? How about the look? Should I do it?

Car will be dropped on bilstein coilover and the roof will be wrapped black.

rims=nay. tires=nay. front tire size = maybe nay. tires should be the best thing on your car. front tire is 26.8" dia. may rub depending on offset and may cause problem with your xdrive. 235/35/20 (26.5") would be better front size

all that matters is if you like them. If you're deal driven, take a chance and find out.

EDIT
don't put crap nexen. do at least hankook ventus v12 evo2 or continental extremecontact sport which is a superb tire for only a few bucks more than the hankook.

if you run 19's, xdrive size should be 235/40/19F, 265/35/19R or 245/35/19F, 285/30/19R. . rim size should be 19x8.5(or9) +35ish front, 19x9.5 or 10 +40 to 45 rear

for 20's, 235/35/20F, 275/30/20R, 20x8.5 or 9 +35ish front, 20x10ish +40-45ish rear.

I understand that wheel taste varies immensely, but here are some reasonably to modestly priced flow/formed wheels that I think would look good on your sunset 340i. Rohana RF2, Vertini 1.3, 305Forged FT101, Vertini 1.2, TSW Bathurst

not a fan of the style and never heard of the brand either. wheels are something that i like to let other people test out first. it's too critical to safety and performance.

Damn those wheels are ugly.

People really think they are better engineers and designers than BMW?

I knew a bunch of the designers from BMW Design Works here in southern California. All are very smart cookies. Some just specialized in wheels. They know more about rims than I would ever dream about knowing. I'll take their word ANYDAY over the gentleman over at Blaque Diamond HQ.

Come on now. Some of you guys give OEMs too much credit. If you don't think that there are several aftermarket companies with designs that are better engineered to optimize weight, strength, and style, you're delusional. After working for OEMs/suppliers and going through all the warranty projects and recalls, I'll tell you outright you'd be surprised what even the smartest people can miss.

Do you even know the brand or the people that work there?

Thanks for your edit! I'm look for rohana wheels! RC10 with black interior and machined face. If i'm going with 19", looking probably for a 19x8.5 + 35 and 19x9.5 + 35, i can put them on my stock tire? 225-40-19 and 255-35-19 right?

Here is the picture!

you can put your stock tires on the rim sizes you're looking at.

rohana rc10&20 have desirable deep-V concaves however they're both heavy due to low-pressure cast construction and spoke design. i do not care for the acute angle where the spoke connects to the inner lip and since the outer lip has no spoke support it's either prone to impact damage or constructed stronger and heavier there. the blaque diamond bg23 you wanted are similarly designed as well.

i couldn't find your 704M weight but i would guess it is similar to 442M or 403M which weigh over 29lbs.(13.5kg). with runflats the wheel&tire weigh around 58lbs (26.x kg) very heavy. i believe the rohana rc10/20 are of similar weight.

personally i'd look for something flow formed(rotary forged) however if you're set on RC10 or 20, i think the RC10 looks nicer especially in black/machined face.

For the price, i think the rohana RC10 will be just what i'm looking for. the flow form are to expensive and i dont want to spend 6k on a forged setup.

I know it can impact the performance of the car, but this is more like a show car that a track car.

To each his own. IMO stock (+M Sport stuff) looks best on BMW's unless its a full on track car. I know people like to customize stuff, but honestly.... just look at the original rims on his car. They are gorgeous. If the car came with those "Blaque" wheels, he would be drooling over the OEM stuff.

sure. i was planning on changing my OEM wheels shortly after receiving my car, but they grew on me. especially after lowering the car so they fit better. and if they offered 403M wheels on f32s then i'd be even more satisfied.

but i still would rather have certain other aftermarket wheels over these. if our cars came with lighter, wider wheels, it would be a harder sell. but besides for looks, there are obvious performance benefits that can be had. but OEMs are more worried about strength and comfort than looks and performance, so they offer heavier wheels with decent designs and thin tires that won't rub in the worst conditions.

That's a fair point if you also include "for a price" as in BMW designers do what they can within a budget.

Looks aside purely talking quality / performance of wheel, there are absolutely better options out there than what came stock with the car.

True. I mean don't get me wrong. If OP was like hey what do you guys think about these HRE's or Alpina set etc. But to purposely downgrade is a bummer.

Ok we are on the same page. If you've got some of the Ronal-made BMW wheels there are definitely a LOT of better options out there.

HRE is solid obvs, Alpina is mostly BBS-made right? Apex is also quite good for an affordable wheel.

TBH the BBS SR or SX are some great wheels for the money too.

Which size tires are best suited on OEM 788M wheels for 340i X Drive M sport.

Some people are suggesting combination of 235/35/19 and 265/30/19

Some recommend 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 for the X Drive.

If you are looking for Blaque Diamond Wheels I would recommend the BD-11.
I see you like wheels with a lip, PM if you're looking at other styles.
