Got my Bigboost turbo and Supra hpfp sorted out. How much hp do you think I can make with this kit on 91 octane? Yeah I don't want to deal with meth and ethanol mixing.

Someone smarter than me could probably answer your question more specifically, but my take is that this is a gorgeous setup that cost you thousands of dollars. I'm legit jelly. If you have ethanol available in your area, why would you limit your capability just to avoid what amounts to some basic math and running your credit card twice at the pump? My knowledge is pretty limited but based on what I know, 91 octane is going to really restrict how much you can get out of this system.

Edit: (I completely agree with you about meth kits, though. Not interested.)

Wow, big clean up in this thread over the past 12 hours. What happened to all the Pure800 related stuff?

Bad ass.
Depending on the size of that turbo, the HPFP may still be your limiting factor.

What are they doing for the wastegate/boost control?

Yeah I see the same thing. I'm the thread owner and I haven't made any changes aside from an edit to a comment that I personally made. I assume a mod stepped in but I'd like to know what rules were broken besides some snide comments that were posted. I've never been a member on a forum that didn't include a little sniping here and there and I didn't see anything way over the line.

I planned on going Big Boost Stage 3 MPR 6164 Turbo along with a CSF Heat Exchanger! If I were to use the stock HPFP what do you think the results would be?

Why are none of the popular options utilizing a ball bearing turbo?? I remember all of the Audi big turbo setups using legit garret Gt or Gtx turbos with ball bearings. Typically this means faster spool and increased durability. Win win right?

Probably a mix up? Thinking we are not a sponsored vendor, though we are. IDK, we messaged admin.

I heard ball bearing is only good for smaller size engines. Our engine is big enough spool up on time.

My limiting factor is the 91 octane we have here in CA. You’ve gotta go with ethanol if you want to be in the 600hp realm

Maybe 550whp or so. You'll need ethanol or something to increase octane to make more power.

The results will be disappointing.

Skip the heat exchanger and get a fuel pump.

I'm really glad more and more VAG people are popping up here to speak my language. I think the same thing. BMW tuning is way cheaper, but materials and design is cheaper as well. VW was all expensive Doc Race style BT options, while BMW owners jump on log manifolds and hybrids like crazy. I asked one vendor specifically and he said "It costs me more money, and it doesn't make me more money." hard to argue with that.

Also I'm coming to learn that, from a spool perspective, twin scroll/twin turbo design trumps all those other turbo properties. So since the N54 days it has never been a concern, because it's not like VW where you have a bunch of exhaust pulses fighting for priority.

Stock turbo E30 (blue lines) vs Pure800 E50 (red lines) on a B58 M140i. See if this one gets deleted.

Have no E85 around where I am .... that restrict me in my choices I suppose. If I go pure stage 1 (want to keep it a dd/ tourer) would I need a fuel pump ?

^That nice honestly, Do you know the guys setup? He’s probably running meth & e85

Also with the core deposit how does that work? That’s honestly one of the reasons I would go with pure over big boost.. but I need some convincing

These are the listed mods on Facebook

Pure 800 Upgrade turbo
HC Performance custom e30/meth map via bootmod3
Wagner radiator upgrade
Decat dp and remus exhaust
Dorch st2 hpfp, EOS PI rail, Torqbyte meth

Similar result for less $ with VTT GC turbo without core deposit?

Nice👌🏼 Big boost offers a dp & chargepipe along with the turbo for 3,650 with no refundable deposit.. I had originally wanted to go with Pure I’m just not familiar with what the core deposit means, or how it takes place? But if it can save me some extra cash I might consider!

Basically you pay additional $1,500 on top of the cost of the turbo. You have 60 or 90 days to send in your old turbo and they will return the core deposit back to you ($1,500). Your stock turbo is worth around $700 (based on eBay). So whatever you buy from them just consider $700 on top of the purchase price.

What kind of power do you think the spool hpfp and the vargas turbo would get on pump gas?

So if the Vargas GC is $1600 with no core deposit and we think you can get ~$700 for a used B58 turbo on eBay, doesn't that bring the effective cost of the Vargas GC down to like, $900....?

Yes! However you might want to hang on to the stock turbo should something went wrong.
