A/C Stops Blowing at Idle
I tried searching but didn't find my exact issue.
I've noticed lately, as we've reached 100*+ here in TX, that my A/C stops blowing air whenever I'm off the throttle (like exiting a highway and breaking) or when I'm stopped at a light/stop sign. It's not that the air is still blowing but the air is warm, the airflow stops entirely. If I have it set to Max A/C, the airflow slows to the speed as if I had it set to the first notch. As soon as I start moving again, the airflow ramps up and shortly after, the air gets cold again. I'm assuming that at the very least, I'm low on refrigerant. But what's concerning is how the air stops blowing. I thought that maybe there's a sensor that detects that something in the system is getting too hot or is working too hard and that's what's killing the airflow. Like I said, I've only noticed this over the past few weeks. I didn't have these problems last summer. Thoughts? Last edited by sickF30; 07-21-2018 at 05:45 PM.. |

Vacuum leak? Does it happen when you manually set the a/c to blow through dash vents only and the temp wheel is centered?
