Service cost? (Brake fluid & oil)

Good morning,

I just got a notice that my 2014 428i (45,500 miles) is due for a service. The info screen says Engine Oil, Brake Fluid, and Vehicle Check are due. This is my first service outside the complementary BMW maintenance program. How much should I expect to pay from the BMW dealer? Thanks!

Many BMW dealers frequently run oil / filter change specials and coupons. In SoCal, $99 deals are quite frequent. Try visiting web sites of several local dealers to find service specials.

I'm located in the Dallas Ft. Worth area

I figured about $100 for an oil change. Wasn't sure on the brake fluid

About twice what you'll pay at an Indy. Most here agree that once you're out of warranty only go to a dealer if you have to, otherwise develop a relationship with an Indy that specializes in German cars.

Brake fluid flush at my indy is around $100.
Oil change at indy, different indy, and dealer generally are $145, one was $180. Note that diesel oil is a bit more expensive than gassers.

If you are still under 50k - this service should be free, unless your time ran out?

I have a '14 also and all my service was covered up to 50k and my time wouldnt have run out until this November.

Oil change should be no more than $70. Oil/filter/drain plug are around 50 from FCP Euro. Labor should be $20. The 4cyl engine just needs the 5 liter jug and that's it.

Before investing $145 in a brake flush invest $9 in one of these fluid testers:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The recommended brake flush interval assumes that your fluid might have been contaminated with water and that you should change it just in case. A tester can confirm if it's required or not.

What is involved in the "vehicle check" and how much does this cost? I just remember the "inspection I, inspection II days with my E46, they charged like 500 bucks just to check a bunch of things.
