F30 illuminated vent thumbwheel
Hey guys,
This might be a silly diy idea, but I'm a sucker for this kind of things and was wondering if it's possible to do it on my F30. Basically, I was browsing a chinese website for a center speaker grill and in the reviews I found these 2 photos posted by a user. What I noticed instantly was the illuminated vent thumbwheel, not the blue/red horizontal one (that is normal), but the vertical one which opens/closes the vent. Again, I know this is kind of silly but it's one of the things I would like to do if it's a simple plug and play replacement trim piece. From the second picture(the door card shape), it seems it would be an F32/F36 or an M4 maybe, but I've been searching for a few days for night pictures and videos with all those cars and none of them show the backlit thumbwheels on the vents. So, does anyone know of such a thing that would fit an F30, or a conversion from another model that would have backlit compatible thumbwheels? Thanks |

I did this mod eventually, after I found this thread and followed the instructions(only the illuminated vent wheel part).
I also used the led modules from the door ambient lights, as I replaced them before with some custom ones. Only difference is I used a 470 ohm resistor to dim it down a bit more, closer to the other buttons(I think a 680 ohm would be even better). |
