Anyone else have this issue? My car is in a warm (ish) garage -7 this morning. Drove 15km and when I parked it said that battery voltage is low. It was -26 today. Yes I had a heated seat on and a heated steering wheel - because I did not pay for those for days when it is +5 - that is hen I drive my Z4 with the top down.

I had this happen before - apparently from the factory if cranking power is less than 80% it starts to shut down. The dealer changed the parameter to 65% cranking power.

I noticed on realm that the battery shipped with the car was 90ah and should be replaced with 92ah.

Any hidden warranty out there?

For now the car is in the garage with its trickle charger.

We're now up to at least seven open threads on this subject. It's cold, when it's cold batteries need to be on a maintainer.

yes it is cold - had the same type of messages- battery being over 4 years old now I just went ahead and had it replaced - didn't want to be marooned in this cold weather THE SHOCKER WAS THE COST $575 installed

does anyone know why these BMW need such an expensive a battery 9000 cold crank?
- I am not mechanical but was guessing a powerful battery was required because of the auto stop/start feature which requires the engine to start more often than vehicles without this feature

All the other threads died this winter....lack of maintenance.

Even if that's CAD you got screwed. $300 would seem about right, but not at a BMW stealership. BMW batteries are expensive because they're AGM. You pay for technology. It could have been worse, lithium ion are even more expensive.
