The Z4 is no longer assembled in the USA. It is assembled in Germany. The X3 has never been assembled in the USA.

^ but its about to be (upcoming generation x3 will be built in the US)

That guy that said final assembly point has little bearing on build quality made the most intelligent post in this thread yet...

My e46 was built in Germany, does that mean it underwent Euro-Delivery?

According to my German customers. All BMW's made in the US are crap.. so stay away from US products. Both my customer's drive a X5 and basically it is always in the shop for repairs. (with this statement i am sure many people on this forum will be offended) but it shows that people put things out of proportion, i am sure the X5's assembled in the US aren't all shitty, maybe they got a lemon.

Having said that.. I own a BMW in China, and it drives great! My BMW is imported from Munich, Germany. Buying a Chinese assembled BMW doesn't worry me, it is the fact that they source a shizload of the products from suppliers in China (these are not the same suppliers of components used in the US or Germany or even Africa) New suppliers, slightly different components. Same Price. No thank you.

In China, all Audi's are L versions, so are all the 5 series in China. It's pretty lame as parking spots are pretty tight here. I guess that is why people have drivers here, but what is the point of buying BMW if you aren't gonna drive it??

The 5 series L looks like a damn boat. The audi A4L looks longer than a standard A6. It is not a pleasant sight.

BMW is planning on doing an M3 with the long base as well. It will be called F30 BMW M3L. To cope with the extra 300 lbs weight (for a total of 4500 lbs), BMW is planning on adding a third turbocharger on top of the planned two turbochargers that the F30 M3 3.0 Liter i6 will have. Juicebox is already working on a tune for the triple charged long-base M3.

Good times. I love BMW because now they are only great to get a good laugh.

I would assume that BMW wants to keep their reputation as a premium auto manufacturer and has surely taken careful measures in their product produced by Brilliance by strict quality control.

In China and BMW-5, although this is in accordance with German production, but of requirements and quality production, BBA cannot be considered and compared to this quality in China a brilliance car only 1/6; so China production BMW as, China and BMW-5 in China; I will not buy because I prefer Z4

If we keep getting bigger by eating complete CRAP I reckon there might be a demand for a wide-bodied model!

Oh boy, I got GOOD news for you!
There is no BMW plant in NC!!!
In SC on the other hand, look up Spartanburg near Greenville, right off I-95.

Quality standards are the same all over the world. I do not care which language the guy speaks who assembles the car.

Audi has a long version A8 for all countries, and long versions A6 and A4 for China. So if BMW wants to have succes in China and keep up with Audi, they need such a version. BMW already has the 7XXyL and the 5XXyL, and they will come with a 3XXyL.

Now BMW has the 760i High Security (F01), X5 Security Plus (E70), X5 Security (E70) and 550i Security (E60 and F10 coming). I wonder if they will be a new 335i Security (F30) as they before had the 330i Security (E46)?

This market helps all the car manufacturers to have good results! If this market needs these kind of models why shouldn t they offer to them?
