What does everyone who switches to non run flats do in the event of a blowout?

I finally decided to ditch my Pirelli P-Zero run flats and am getting the Conti DWS 06 tires on my car. I'm just waiting for them to come in. After reading this thread, I definitely know I made the right decision. Since I occasionally make long trips out of town, I plan on keeping a mini spare in the trunk along with a scissor jack and a 17mm lug wrench. Losing some trunk space is definitely worth the improved ride and performance. Goodbye RFTs, I wish we never met!

If BMW Roadside can help, why even bother with carrying a spare and jack in the trunk?

I can change a tire in 10 mins vs waiting for service. No brainier.

Ride is so drastically improved.
What tires did you have before? How is the noise & steering compared to the Run flats?

For now I have the slime bottle gunk to aid me in case of a puncture on my run flats. For those who have already made the switch to non flats and carry a spare kit in the trunk, what type of scissor jack do you use?

I purchased a 2 tonne jack only for it to fail and collaspe on itself. Couldn't lift my f30. :/

Get a Jack from an older series BMW. Heck even one from Mercedes, which was one of the best jacks I ever used. Grips the concrete and lifts quickly and securely.

Merc Jack

Ah ok. I think the E46 came with a similar style jack like the one you linked too. Didn't know they were that sturdy. Will look into this. Cheers.

Road noise is definitely decreased. BUT you now have much stickier tires. So every piece of sand and gravel gets picked up and flung into the wheel wells.

Three options:

Wait for the tow truck.
Get a mobility kit.
Get a jack/spare kit.

Whatever Conti run flats came on it. I knew as soon as I got the car the tires and wheels were coming off of it. I can't believe people buy these cars and accept the RFT ride quality.
