Yes, I recently put them on my 328i. It is a very smooth tire; they have better grip and stability than the original DWS. However, they are not the sportiest tire. If you want the best ultimate grip and firm handling look elsewhere. The DWS 06 is very competent and well rounded, just not the sportiest tire.

BMW uses run flats to reduce weight and cost and to allow rear suspension designs that they like and that's it. Has nothing to do with customer preference. Run flats benefit the manufacturer only.

Runflats most definitely do not rule. I can't remember the last time I got a full on flat. If I even get a puncture, the tpms tells me and I address it well before I would need to put on a spare. The compromise to the ride and handling 100% of the time is not worth the convenience to me perhaps .01% of the time.

Run flats are typically heavier than non run flats

This is true, but getting away without a spare and jack offsets this. But more importantly, you want to have your unsprung weight at the minimum. Run flats might be better than they were, but I still prefer non run flats and a spare. I wish this were a stand alone option on every model.

I like to gamble so I'll go with non run flats and no spare
Americas tire told me my stock run flats were 3 lbs heavier per tire than the Super sports I'm considering

Lowered the car with H&R Sport springs, and I went from 225/45-18 square, to 235/35 and 265/30-19 staggered. Ride is so much nicer.

I'm thinking this is one of the major reasons they use runflats--to insure that they have nearly zero towing incidents involving tire issues. Must save them a bundle in the cost of providing the roadside assistance service.

Went with the Hankooks after 28,000 miles. Still not quite broken in, but there was an immediate difference in ride.

Can't wait to push them.

I'm putting the Conti DWS06 on in June when I get my oil changed. I was thinking Michelin PSS and then dedicated winter tire/wheel setup in the colder months, but I like the wet traction rating and reviews of the Contis more, plus it sounds like they're more compliant on the type of roads I'll be driving, and will likely be quieter too. I'm planning springs and Shockware at the same time, so I can't wait! Let us know what you end up getting and how they work out.

I don't plan to run a fix kit or spare. Well...I'm actually on the fence about a donut. We'll see.

The money saved NOT replacing the S001 RFTs, instead going with Go Flats more than paid for a spare wheel/tire that I toss in the trunk for long, remote road trips. Hate being dependent on a tow truck just for a flat, not to mentioning potentially ruining a trip. Around the city don't care, its the SOS button if needed.
