Question Lost coding...???

Hi all

I have retrofitted Cruise Control on my F20 and all went well - working and super happy with the function. This was also my first time VO coding with ESYS.

However, everything that I had previously coded with BimmerCode has now disappeared like ASS default OFF and all my settings in iDrive has been reset. Can someone explain what might have gone wrong???

It's all quite normal.
At VO coding, all individual codings are always lost.

So BimmerCode is not doing the same as ESYS? I thought BimmerCode was essentially doing FDL coding?

BimmerCode is making only FDL Coding.
Esys can make FDL Coding and VO Coding.
Every VO coding deletes all FDL Coding.

Interesting. Is it possible to backup the FDL information and re-load it after VO coding with ESYS?

THANKS for the feedback. Learning a lot here

It is possible to backup the codings, but not special only the FDL codings.
So the problem is if you reload the saved codings you will overwrite the VO coding.

Hmmm that is indeed quite a conundrum. Guess the message is: Get ALL your VO coding done first and then do the FDL

If you're using e-sys you should learn how to use the cheat sheet functionality, it basically lets you store certain FDL coding changes and apply them all at once. If you have e-sys 3.27.x I believe it should have come with a cheat sheet already built by almaretto, it covers most of the common coding changes that people do.
