F31 MPPSK Vibration Help
Hi all
Need some advice. I have an F31 340i with sunroof fitted and it has the under car braces. I have the MPPSK fitted, however recently I've noticed the centre section now rests on the under body braces and causes vibration. Has anyone else has this issue? Could it be exhaust centre section is loose and sliding out. Many thanks Chris |

How long have you had MPPSK? Does the vibration come from somewhere around the driver’s footwell?
If it’s a recent fit and coming from that area, it’s probably the standard problem with MPPSK of clamp bolt against heat shield. There’s a whole thread about it on here somewhere. Take back to fitting dealer and get them to cut down bolt or rotate clamp slightly 👍 |

Car was collected and taken to dealer, hire car delivered and then we picked the car up (but it was local), but I’m sure they’d drop the car back. Good thing about the MPPSK being a BMW warranted product! |

Might just be worth a quick call to fitting dealer to double check 👍 |

Could be wrong, but if I remember rightly, the exhaust comes with 4 years warranty if fitted on a new car at factory, and 2 years if fitted on a used car?

Hi all,
Many thanks for all your suggestions. This is turning out be a frustrating situation... The car has now been back to BMW and they have seen and heard the issue. It does not appear to be vibration from the front exhaust clamp but from the valves in the MPSSK back box itself. Now for the annoying part.. BMW are not sure warranty of the parts covers the valves and the replacement part is 1700 quid. BMW have agreed to take my car for a week for more tests and diagnostics. Fingers crossed they sort it. I really don't see how they cannot replace the faulty item as its all installed by them. Let's watch this space however I must admit I'm slightly concerned about getting a large bill. |

I'm sure it will be ok but I just hope BMW don't try anything on. It was only fitted in June and only covered 2k mileage. |

I would hope that if the exhaust is only 4 months old and has only covered 2K miles and has not been damaged in use, then it would fall under the heading of 'not of merchantable quality' and BMW would replace it f.o.c.
Good luck, hope they sort it for you.

Thanks and I 100 % agree, I have had no reason to fiddle around with the exhaust as I am no mechanic |

Hi All,
To close this all off. Had a call from BMW today. They replaced the MPSSK exhaust under warranty. They have had the car for a week for tests and the valves had failed. Therefore I pick the car up on Saturday - earliest I can do. However my 19 plate 320i msport new shape 3 series loaner is a lovely car. |

Interesting your impressed with a new shape 2 litre, even though you have a 340. Must be the build quality? |
