will this headlight fit on US spec car?
Hey forum!
first post hopefully it hasn’t been asked before. Do you know if this euro? spec f30 headlight fit on a US spec f30? if so, any benefits? Last edited by p0x6; 10-23-2020 at 11:24 AM.. |

My understanding is that the headlight units themselves should fit in your chassis without issue. However I believe that UK headlights (or anywhere cars are right-hand drive) have different hardware configurations that align and shape the lights for driving on the other side of the road, and this cannot be addressed by coding.
That being said, euro adaptive headlights are sought after as the US LCI adaptive headlights do not support non-glare highbeam functionality due to a hardware limitation. Pre-LCI US adaptive LED headlights are the only US headlight that can support true non-glare highbeams by making coding changes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

I didn't mean to imply the headlights in your picture are from the UK (I have no idea if they are or how to tell), I was just pointing out something to be aware of. You don't want right-hand drive (RHD) headlights if you drive in the US.

would non AFS euro LED lights be basically the same as US non AFS lights since it doesn't have the desired non-glare highbeam functionality that euro LCI adaptive lights do? |

You may need to code these headlights after installing them, even if they are non-adaptive you might get errors or certain functionality may not work right. What exactly is your intention? Are you just replacing a broken headlight? Or looking for some kind of upgrade? |

If I may, how much cheaper should they be to make the coding issues worth it? I'm NOT casting doubt ajd maybe this is super simple but unless the savings are huge, I tend not to add another wrinkle to the mix. But I'm a scaredy kitty 😜
