1. Is the catalyst ceramic or metal ?
2. Will it telescope ? 3. Can E85 be run thru it ? 4. Is there any before and after hp figures ? 5. Video of it in action ? With stock exhaust. 6. Do you use a catalyst from 3rd party, or is it your own welded into the piping ? Are they readily available now for shipping ? |

the fact that it comes with a clamp too, AWESOME! My ER catted didn't, and after 50k miles, the clamp was a rusty mess...good to see alternatives out there, had I only waited!

I don't know if it's a typo but I got my tracking number and checked on UPS. It says product weight is 1.00lbs. That's some super light DP. So added HP and crazy weight reduction.

Sorry for the delayed response. 1. Metallic substrate 2. No it will not telescope 3. Yes E85 can be run with our cat, but my understanding is that a thorough answer to this question is more complicated as ethanol can react with the phosphorous in extended life oil and form a compound that can poison a cat. If one were highly concerned about this they would need to research the specific amounts of additives in the oil they use and compare that with how much / how often they run E85. Flex fuel vehicles don't seem to have a problem and a lot of gasoline is E10 anyway, so I would not worry about this. Did you have some other specific concern about E85? 4. Hp and torque gains are going to be similar to other catted DP's, although the design optimization we do seems to improve throttle response and high-rpm pull, compared to the other products (based on customer feedback). It is on our list to get better data. 5. I believe all the videos we have taken have been with our VS-1 exhaust system but there are several customers now using this with a stock exhaust, maybe some videos will surface with this combo soon. 6. It is a 3rd party catalyst They are readily available but we are quickly selling out of our first batch. We under-anticipated the demand for this product and are in the process of increasing our production capability / in-stock product status. |

Nothing quite like some good ole American manufacturing, using American made machinery to machine parts designed by American engineers out of American made stainless steel.
All designed, engineered and manufactured for some of the highest quality vehicles in the world. These cars deserve the best, so why settle for anything less? |

I have heard some stories, most likely from low quality Catted down pipes here in California that they do not pass smog.
This would be the only deciding factor of whether or not I buy this product. I have a 340i but since that is brand new is there any verification that the Cat on this will pass a smog check down the line?

We have a customer with a 340i who just received the first production 340i DS-1 and his videos sound phenomenal for a stock exhaust with a catted downpipe. Stay tuned and I think a few guys are going to post up.

Goj - you don't have to worry for the 1st 6 years and after that its only an ODBIII check that they run, so if not check engine lite = pass.
This setup is "legit" enuf looking i won't have to break my wallet bribing someone to overlook this Quote:

Installed this Thursday and words can't express how happy I am with it. No drone, perfect tone, and best of all no check engine light.
