I love this image portrayed on here of Brexiteers being courageous, brave, adventurous people willing to take a risk to change our lives for the better. When the majority of voters over 60, which made up a large part of the Brexit vote, just wanted to make sure their lives didn't continue to change, and if possible went back in time a few years if that is ok.

Now they're struggling to find a nurse to treat their gout and they're resorting to washing their own cars.

On the plus side for a car forum, Brexit might mean less paint swirls from reckless car wash staff.

Polls. Check them out.

Or, if they don't say what you want them to, just pick holes in them in a conspiracy theory style.

Plus, even for the people that voted for genuine "progress" reasons, any sane person knows that there is a large element of truth in what I said.......oh hang on, I see what's happened.

That's just what I meant, conspiracy theorists disputing things they don't like the sound of.

I'm that sure polls held after an event are less open to error.

But, hey, if you want to contnue to believe that you're in the brave, courageous, adventurous camp, feel free.

And if it's helps, carry on believing that those who voted remain are just too frightened and stupid to do anything else.

There you go, you're back up on perch looking down on us scaredy cats.

On the very brief subject of polls...the polls have been constantly wrong with the exception of the Exit polls on voting days. Certainly for the last few years any way.

I fully understand why you want to believe the polls Alex, as they fit your narrative that Brexit voters are old, homophobic, anti-Semitic xenophobes.

The result of us live in the real world. Norman
You don't have to start signing your emails off with your name, I already know.

Although as a signature, "Norman Lol" suits you, better than some of the others you have made up in the past.

Only you would call into doubt the countless polls that show the age demographic of voters. Strange though, when it suited you, you called out the young for being too lazy to vote. Make your mind up.

I could have easily voted leave for any number of reasons, but it wouldn't have meant that I was completely blinded to the reality of why many others had voted. I am aware that many bright intelligent people voted leave for good reasons, but that doesn't mean the other large demographic that influenced the vote doesn't exist. Do you need to ignore the common sense that tells you that for your own conscience, or do you genuinely believe that the leave vote was made up of enlightened buccaneers fighting for a greater future?!

I agree, opinion polls prior to a vote have been wrong on a few things recently. Not really heard any hard facts disputing post vote polls.

I actually think the incorrect pre vote polls back up the theory, people were embarrassed to admit that they were going to vote for Trump or Brexit, and to a lesser degree both May and Corbyn in the general election. That last poll must have been a nightmare with no one daring to admit anything.

Once the vote is over and the unexpected result is revealed, people are much happier to talk about their vote as it has now been vindicated. Just my opinion.

Whilst interesting, this discussion is ultimately fatuious. In fifteen months time we leave. That reminds me, my passport is due for renewal.
Pointless trying to discuss with you then.

You only seem to respond the points you wish to dispute, but don't accept or even acknowledge others.

I'm happy to accept that there are many bright, considered individuals that voted for their own reasons for Brexit. But, if I dare to mention that there might have been another group who did it for the opposite reasons, that they're frightened of change and just want to turn the clocks back, you just dispute the polls and pretend that this element doesn't exist.

Keep that head buried.

Millions of people voted for Brexit for lots of good reasons.

Unfortunately, it has to be left to others to completely fuck up the implementation of utopia.

That's the biggest issue for me, I voted remain but was genuinely sitting on the fence right up until the end, my decision was made based upon the fact that I didn't trust the fraggles who run the country to do a decent job of negotiating.

As usual I am 100% right, these bellends couldn't run a chip shop.
