Another question...

Using esys and esys launcher you see cheat values on the right side when in the coding window. I try to sort by F10 codes and click refresh bit it reverts back to ALL.

I realize many are same codes, such as DVD in Motion. However, there's 3 to choose from. I assume one for each of the 3 contributors?

Should I use the coding database tool and do all manually myself?

Personal preference. You can either manually do yourself or use cheat sheets. The ladder has review function so you can still check values to make sure they are relevant for your vehicle.

There is not toggle option to set kein_Id.

Any ideas?

Using latest Esys, eSys Launcher and PSDZDATA received from ShawnSheridan just 2 weeks ago. Car was built November 2015 and hasn't had any software updates by dealer.
Above Werte Value should be a DropDown box.
I recall that as well from my F30.

The werte value didn't seem to be modifiable in the upper window. The 0F appeared in the lower window wanting me to type a new value.

I'll check again.
Ok, my error. The drop down box is there above the werte value. Not sure what happened before, probably me losing my mind.

Thanks.

For my F10, I reviewed the cheat codes listed in esys and they only appear for some modules. They certainly make coding NBT much faster. Other modules are just as easy to do by hand. Some must be done by hand because esys has no cheats.

The printed cheat sheets seem to be more comprehensive. At least for the F10.

You are also free to edit the cheat sheets to add additional more relevant parameter settings.

Having s little trouble coding video in motion. I've changed 5 values as I did on my previous car, but still get "video cannot be viewed for your own safety" message when I move off. My car has the new idrive 5.0, does anyone (Shawn) have any idea if I'm missing something, or if there's an extra value I've missed?

Ive changed:

SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX To FF
SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN To FF
VIDEO_FRONT_LOCKED To not active
VIDEO_HANDBRAKE To not active
VIDEO_SPEEDLOCK_CONDITION To none

Any ideas what I've missed?

If you have NBT2 (EVO), you also have these, and you cannot set them to FF due to shortened Bitmask, so best you can do is 1F and 3F:

SPEEDLOCK_SPEEDVALUE_MIN = > Werte = 1F (11111b)
SPEEDLOCK_SPEEDVALUE_MAX => Werte = 3F (111111b)

Cancel that. I did change it back. It seems to have worked. Thanks again Shawn

What did (111111b) mean after each werte??

That is Binary equivalent of the Hexadecimal Value representing the shortened Bitmask. FF Hex would be 1111 1111 in Binary.

Ok, bit odd this one. It now works but only up to 40mph? It then waits till I drop below 20 before coming back on. Have I done something wrong, is there a way of adjusting that top speed?

That's it. FF would be Top Speed, but as I already explained, the shortened Bitmask won't allow it. 3F = 63 kmh or 39 mph.

Not with coding alone. You would need hardware adapter to fool car into thinking it is not moving.

However for some reason the av program kills the download and i cant run it.

If your source is ShawnSheridan, then it is a false positive.

I just ran a couple of other scans against the files and they are fine. it must be Kaspersky being overtly cautious.

I will run it in a protected VM to bypass the AV

What file specifically is being suggested as malware?

Shawn, now that it appears BMW is going to support CarPlay, any chance we can retrofit this via code into earlier models?

Not easily. For retrofit, it requires NBT2 EVO Head Unit with iD5 (G-Series) interface, and an FSC Enabling Code that as of yet anyway, can't be ordered.

Cannot find TRSVC module

Hi

I am using Esys 2.27.1 with data files 3.59.2.001
I have coded many features in CAS, and HU_NBT module.
But I cannot find following 2 modules to code the camera:
TRSVC and PDC

My car is equipped with surround view camera and Parking assistant and even Driver Assistant Plus. I have a BMW X3 2016.

Does anybody why I don't see these modules in the list, and how to find them?

Thanks
Amin
