Maybe, although you may need to lock ACSM:

Tool32 => ACSM4.prg => steuern_verriegelung_schreiben = control_lock_write

PM sent.

Hi Shawn,

I successfully used Tool32 to read defaults codes of my car (after FDL coding sessions with eSys on HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA), as you describe in a previous post.

It gave me errors but not on the two coded modules. So i assume that the errors found by tool32 are real errors and not errors due to coding. I have nothing visible on the dash.

Before erasing them, i want to understand their signification : can you give me a link to INPA for F30, as i remember on my E60 that iNPA gives a short description of error codes and allow to erase them ECU after ECU.
Is there a more power tool than INPA to understand error codes (like DIS i used on my E60) ?

Thanks

You cannot make that assumption. Coding in one module can easily through an error code in another module. Many ECU's are intertwined with other ones and have dependencies on each other.

INPA is a good option. PM sent.

Your best diagnostic tool though will be ISTA/D Rheingold.

Thanks Shawn.

I thought a moment that it could work in a 64 bits Windows (as says in a pdf file of Ediabas 7.3) but no. It says "no connection". It should be normal, as i can read on numerous posts .

I will install it on a 32 bits Windows (the same PC i found the errors) this week-end.

The version I sent you works perfectly well on 64-Bit OS. I run it on Win 8.1 64-Bit myself with no troubles.

I don't worry about Error Codes. If I get an error showing up on my Kombi or CIC, I just clear them. I don't bother reading and interpreting them as it's of no interest to me.

Hi,

your result file shows 1 error in BFS, 3 errors in IHKA and 1 error in DME/DDE.
It seems that the number of errors is given by F_ANZ item of each request.
The answer of each module as a lenght of 3 Bytes without error and 3 + 4 x nb errors Bytes . Each block of 4 Bytes after the 3 first bytes represents an error code.

oh I see... thanks for the explanation

so the error code for the BFS is: 80 2C 1E 68

128 44 30 104 ?

is there any code list to see what the error actually means?

It seems that the 4 bytes code is divided in 2 parts :
- 3 Bytes (F_ORT_NR)
- 1 Byte (F_ART_NR) : 104 for your FBS

But I didn't find an explanation table yet.
That's why i asked Shawn for a tool that gives an explanation more readable of each error

damn... you have tons of error codes... no wonder it won't start....

I would try clearing the codes and see if it starts.... and then check what codes are left....
Else take the JB4 off maybe you didn't install it right

It seems that coding KOMBI is bound to give you SEL. I've been coding all weekend and I was trying to code the speed limits to show but didn't finish it and now I got SEL.
