Head Unit / Software issue
So a bit involved but last week coolant pipe broke on my series 4 grand coupe - engine overheated and needed new pump but thankfully no engine damage. Whilst at main dealer being fixed they updated the software to run diagnostics and this has caused many issues. The navigation system will not work - keeps crashing when trying to install latest maps. After buying the car 3 years ago I fitted apple CarPlay and a reversing camera and they are saying this software is causing the issue and quoted me £1700 to fit a new head unit! I have tried re-installing CarPlay from original file but not working. . Any ideas?

How was carplay installed/enabled?
If it’s the normal faked fsc certs (eBay / retro enablement), it breaks the head unit when BMW do software updates. I believe it’s recoverable without a new unit, but BMW won’t offer you that route and you’ll have to get an expert to sort it. |
