F32/F82 LCI and rear fog lamps
On my pre LCI F32, all the wiring was in place. My question is, on LCI cars is the wiring in the all the way to the rear tail lamp plugs? If it is would simply buying a set of tails, bimmercoding and modifying the switch make it work?

I figured it out.
See below: Seems like this has been an issue for many folks with LCI F82s. The wiring is all in place from the factory. The issue is that the US spec all red tail lights are missing the LED strip in them for the rear fogs. My pre-LCI F32 had euro LCI blacklines on it, so I took them off and installed them in the M4. Modified the light switch button and coded it via Bimmercode. Lo and behold there they are. They don't look so bright in the pic, but believe me they are very noticeable when driving.

Thats interesting, hence for US cars are no rear fogs are applicable for some reasons idk further.
Under what circumstances are you using them, just asking.

When there is heavy fog or misty rain and visibility is low, otherwise they are always off. It's just a safety thing for me. I activated the rear fogs on all my BMWs.

During my 3 week west coast trip I saw several dumbasses with steady activated rear fogs at bright sunshine. That sux when you are tied behind such a driver and cant overtake...

A lot of people with LCI F32/82/36 with North American lights coded the turn signals in inner assemblies (trunk lid mounted) to act as rear fogs. This requires different coding. PM me if you'd like to know which lines in FEM need to be coded for that.

I have a pre-lci with red rears.
Do you mind sharing the programming to activate the rear fogs? If those won't work on my car, I'd love to know how to program the inner signals instead. |
