It’s been 11 days since mybmw site moved to “production starts” with no further progress. Waiting for this build is worse than watching paint dry. It better be worth it lol

BTW, mine was in the same status for 6 days before it moved to "Body shop". 2 or 3 days later, it was done. |

Update....still on production begins. As per BMW my car is "scheduled" for completion by 8/23. I wonder if the site just doesn't update in sync with whats actually happening

My F31 340i MG have arrived to the dealer on 6, August and managed to do all the paperwork by 16, Aug so now it is parking in my garage. On 19, Aug, my twin daughters have arrived too so I only managed to put 600kms on the TwinTurbo and spend the rest of my time with the TwinDaughters

Hopefully it's the home stretch now

My first impressions about the car (will be curious about yours): - it is way more quieter than I expected probably due to the GPI (Gasoline Particle Filter) - since the whole thing is quieter, there is not much noticable difference compared comfort and sport modes - I am a break-in period believer therefore I have not tried any WOT and have not pushed further 4500rpm yet - My mechanic said the exhaust will be louder once it gets "burned out" - can't wait to hear that - mine has the Adaptive Suspension - there is not much difference between comfort and sport. It is def. a bit stiffer but I expected way more difference as other people said it is day and night - the electric tow bar is VISIBLE when "closed"! My car looks like it has balls - well, probably it has - mine came with Goodyear RFC's which are crap. Here in EU there is no possibility to order it without RFC - after my order it turns out BMW stopped offering/selling MPPSK - no exhaust, no chip! Nothing. I was very disappointed when I realised. Hopefully they will work out something in the near future to get that 360PS out of that engine. - The Engine!! It is flawless, I love it. I am coming from a 2007 E90 335xi (N54) (actually an US model) and the B58 is much more powerful in the low and middle rpm's. Once again, the car is still in the break-in period so I did not have the chance to find out how it performs under WOT and higher RPMs. - when upshifting there isn't any pops and cracks, not even that lovely crunchy sound (Porsche with PDK makes one big deep pop with every shift, BMW made it different). I really hope that it will come because honestly I bought this car 75% to hear that shift sound. I will keep you posted with more experience in the future when I have the time to pass the break-in period and beat the shit out of it. Until that, here are some yummy visual snacks: |

Usually once they cross the Atlantic, BMW carriers first stop in Halifax, then New York, Baltimore, Charleston, and Brunswick, GA (where my car will get off). Estimated arrival in Brunswick is 9/13! )))) |

If you were on the west coast, you would need to add another 2 weeks. Mine was unloading on the east coast 2 weeks ago before going south to the canal. It will get near the end port tomorrow, but will probable sit at anchor for a couple of additional days because of Labor day. Then there is customs, VPC, waiting for a truck and surface transport. It seems endless

My car just got off the Glorious Leader at the NY/NJ port yesterday. Should have her, I’m hoping by, Thursday next week. It’s like watching paint dry! I need it now lol!
