These cars are getting so big. Yes they look good but I can imagine by 2025 the 1 series will be the size of the 5 series??? The problem is the freeways aren't getting any bigger so with larger cars. They take up more space.

Uh, what pictures are YOU looking at? Do you need glasses?

The renderings make it look too big. Too much like a 6. Don't get me wrong, the 6 is a nice looking car, but the 3 Series coupe needs to have it's own look and personality, IMO.

It looks ok, if boring is what one likes.
It's just boring.
The size of it in a coupe is much too big.
From the doors rear edge to the back it's just too freaking long with nothing of visual interest to break it up.

I like the 3 sedan. Even though it's a bit bigger, the proportions look good, and overall the design hides the growth.
But, it doesn't translate very well to a coupe.
I kept reading that the coupe would be different than the sedan, yet these picts pretty much show the car as being the size of a sedan with nothing to make the coupe look special or different, just too big.

In comparison the A5 looks much nicer as it's design works well as a couple.
It doesn't look like an A4 coupe. It looks unique as a coupe, which is what I was thinking/hoping BMW would do.

I don't think it's a good thing that it looks somewhat like a 6 coupe.
The 3/4 series coupe should look tighter, smaller, with a bit more aggressiveness to it.

The pic of the 6 series looks great. If the F coupe looks like that (Back proportioned to the front in a smaller car) it will look wicked. The rendering is ugly from the back.

Well, they tend to get bigger everytime, even the actual spyshots seems to suggest. Or maybe its the wheel size that makes the car oversized.
Which also suggests allowance for really big wheels!!!

F32 should be no bigger than F30.
It's just the sleek shape and lines that makes it appear stretched.

If it's too big, can always get the 1er coupe, or even better the 1M,

Its kinda ironic that everyone said the samething about the C63 AMG coupe looking like an Accord and it even lost to the M3 in the recent C&D comparo because of looking like an Accord. Now BMW's new 3er coupe looks like an Accord, maybe Honda's doing something right?

I invite you to come to Europe and go and drive a 7 series in downtown Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Paris, Milan, Florence, Barcelona. Pfffff. Sometimes frustrating to say the least.

One of the main reasons for me to switch back to a 'smaller' F30.(currently driving an F10)

I think the render gives us an indication of what the production model may look like. And if that's direction BMW is taking it, that's not such a bad thing. With that being said, critics have compared it to the Honda Accord and BM C-Class coupes. Looking at the three cars the Honda and the Mercedes appear to be related and share the same bloodline.
Cheers!

I found it funny that people kept comparing it to an Accord coupe. Before that, they kept saying it looked like a Mustang. I guess the camouflage on the early test mules really fooled people. In the side by side pictures you put up, the rendering of the rear looks nothing like the Accord.

Yikes, it DOES look like an Accord coupe. It looks bloated, stretched and with weird proportons, not sporty at all, more like a coupe for old people. The 6 looks gorgeous, this one (if it looks really like that) just look...strange. Some made a comparison with the A5/S5, sorry, the Audi at least looks bold and gorgeous, not that thing

the overall shape of the 3 cars are practically the same, only the few details and the logo would separate them for people who dont know about cars...

... but then who can blame the car designers and engineers? ?? it's not like there is much options or alternative in creating an original car nowadays...

everyone is copying everyone else...

Until someone else comes with a more daring design (except for the Chinese)

right now Big plus for the A5
