Looks like a Hyundai Genesis. Not that that's an ugly car, but its no BMW. I don't expect that those character lines on the side will be nearly so defined/indented as they are in the renders, which would help it look more like a mini-6, as suggested. But so far these renders don't show a car with as attractive of an overall shape as the e92, though the f30 certainly looks better than an e90, mainly from the rear.

Given the dues that the render was straight from one of the scoop photographs they seem to have, at the rear quarter incorporated the plastic panels that are hidden under the camouflage to beef the car out and hide some of the detail such as the surface design work. So that should be smoothed out more and look less bulky- The best idea is to look at the latest Autobild rendering that seem to have the outline and the sculpture work in the best idea possible.

Now that BMW see the need for the Coupe to be more independent from the sedan in not only design but this time in name. So in order to stretch the Coupe away from 2dr Sedan even more so than the E92 it will not inherit the complete face and tail features from the 3er. The E92 already done this to great success so it will be carried over to the 4er.

The front end of the car will not be a pure carryover from the sedan.

It will use the idea of the connected grille ( As will all future BMW's) but will do it differently from the sedan. Like the E92 we will see a more sportier looking slimmer headlight a bit like this render but will use a wider and deeper twin-kidney grille than the 3er. The new 4er will have to stay true to two bloodlines now - The BMW Coupe "Bloodline" and the 3er "Bloodline".

Which means there will be Coupe traits from the 6er- mixing sportyness with dynamic elegance and the details from the 3er but interpreted in a more sportier, powerful way.
The render in your attachment looks like Buick to me, except for the front. I don't like it.

In general, I hope the 4er doesn't look as ugly as the 6er.

Looks fine in the spy pics. And nobody complaining about the f30's size. This won't be much bigger if at all.

I had the 08 honda accord coupe v6 6spd which I loved it to death.

however, when its a car thats 25k more expensive resembles the accord coupe, especially the trim lines on the side window, i dont know what to think: accord coupe design is so good that its lines are being copied (however on purpose or by coincedence) or have BMW designers failed to create a genuine line for F32?

what do you guys think...?

I hope it looks more like a baby 6-series than what's been imagined in the renders, which have a more bulbous rear end than I'd like to see.

On the rear 3/4 view, that rear end and forward rake combine to give the car a very Honda Crosstour/Accord Coupe look about it.

I don't understand why all the new coupes are resembling Honda accord coupes.. The Benz c-class coupe is another example.

Why are they after such a boring design with the pillars and trunk. The 3 series sedan looks much better and flows better than this one. I hope they don't look like this because then the M3/4 is going to be composed of the same body and it'll look like a C class coupe AMG black where it looks like everything is just an add-on to an already ugly car in attempt to make it look better and sportier.

I hope BMW has some plans to make some type of faster cars that aren't so identical to other cars and more creative. And the 3 series is getting too big.

What made this generation M3 so great is because it had a great engine, a great body to work with from the ongoing 3 series coupe, and the comfort that came along with the package. I do think it should be a little bit more raw, which I hope they achieve with the M3/4. But it was such a great car that only continued to beat others while it was around.

BTW, how much do you want to bet it'll have incandescent bulb brake lights and turn signals, but, in 2017, BMW will upgrade it to LEDs with the LCI, just like they did with the E46 and E92.
Very much Agreed! Thats the BS Tricks car companies like BMW does just to make more money.

I definitely don't like this render as much as the sedan renders. That being said I currently own a e90 so I guess my visual preference lies with that of sedans.....

Either way it is exciting to the see ideas about what they'll look like. As long as new renders keep coming I'll be watching!
