For sale is an OEM brake kit from a 2013 US 335i (4 piston fronts, single piston rears). The kit includes front and rear calipers, front and rear rotors, all the brake pads and dust shields, and the required screws and bits to get this bolted straight onto another F3X (upgrade for non-335i cars).

The four calipers had been painted matte black by my local wheel shop. It matches nicely with any colored wheels and offers a stealthy look. This brake kit was removed at the dealer when I had another kit installed. I also asked the dealer to measure the rotors and pads.

The kit was boxed up at the dealer and is ready for shipment or local pickup.

If any potential buyers want more specific pictures of parts, I can open up the boxes and provide them upon request.

Free shipping to lower 48!

Thanks

I actually called around a few local shops first, assuming the dealer would charge a ridiculous amount for the labor, to get a good idea about the price. The shops generally quoted me around 600+ and didn't sound too confident about tackling this project. Later on I discovered that you had to code the car after install the M Performance Brakes, so pretty much my only choice was installing at the dealer. To my own surprise, I got a reasonable quote for 550 which included the coding, install, bleed, and etc at the dealer.

As a side note, I think I got a good deal considering I spoke to a different adviser when my usual adviser was on vacation, and he quoted me 680.

Hope this helped.

In my opinion, the car looks much better since the pop of color gives the wheel well a nice character. In terms of braking feel, since I am still breaking them in, I cannot say that I am feeling the improvement immediately, although I can definitely say the stopping power has improved. In terms of pedal feel, the amount of dead travel, and moderate initial bite, these points are below my expectations.

To sum it up:
+Great looks, pop of color
+Overall positive improvement, although not a night and day difference
- Pedal feel could be a lot stiffer
- Mediocre initial bite

Maybe my opinion will improve once the break-in period is over.

Stainless steel brake lines would help make the brake pedal a bit more firmer.

Do I need to do coding after I put 335i brake onto my 428? Since the 4 pistons will have more brake power then then old one piston front.

I think I can shed some light on this, although others please feel free to answer this as well. I spent some time looking into the brake coding issue before purchasing my current brakes. To sum it up, as far as I know, it should work without coding the car even though the front is changed to 4 pistons.

To be more specific, when I was researching posts regarding brake coding, many members discovered and reported to not have their front/rear caliper and rotor sizes correctly coded, if coded at all. After visiting the dealer to install my brakes, I found that my car wasn't coded for the original brakes either. Based on this, I believe under normal driving conditions, the brakes would still be effective and operational without coding. However, some members reported better braking feeling after they correctly coded the braking setup (among other factors). I personally believe coding the car would be a good option although not required, even if just for sanity's sake. Attached is a screenshot that I found, which I sent to my dealer to double check the brake coding on my car.

Hope this helped.
