Yes, you can. My 2012 is at 92k. Will be at 100k by the end of the year. Just routine maintenance so far. Touch wood!

I know this is an F30 thread but recently had a cylinder misfiring at 41k on my '16 435ix. Was replaced under warranty after 3 visits to the dealer. Car is stock with just MPE installed. I came across a lot of posts about misfiring cylinders and coils failing within 30-40k miles. Even on relatively newer cars.

However, my previous car '14 328ix never had a single issue until I traded it in at 42k miles and I drove the hell out of it all the time, pushed it to its limits a few times(hitting the limiter)

Also, I don't think the forums represent the correct estimation of reliability or the lack of it, I know a lot of BMW owners who never visit any forums, some of them are car enthusiasts too.

2014 F30 335Xi currently has 61k
bought it with 44k.

Carfax was clean, didn't see any major work.

*Seatbealt restraint sytem warning appeared, dealer reset and it never appeared. (possible interference with something else i guess)

*Cylinder misfire caused by bad gas, put some fuel treatment and stopped going to a specific gas station haha

*Expansion Tank Coolant Hose broke, had to replace.

Only reoccurring weird thing I have is with my iDrive system, sometimes when a phone is connected using the usb connection, iDrive will shut off. Doesn't happen all the time but it sort of just resets itself a couple times. Way i fixed it was by not using it. I just rock bluetooth and car charger the whole time. Tends to happen to other peoples phone more frequently. Stealership charged me like $250 for some program update, didn't help.

My 2013 335 has 104,000 miles with no issues. I'm starting 100k mile maintenance.
Just did the water pump and thermostat, oil filter housing gaskets, fuel pump, trans fluid, and diff fluid. MY old E46 had 275,000 miles when I sold it. I'm shooting for 225K minimum miles on the N55. When the turbo goes I'll pull the engine and do all the cooling hoses at the same time.

F30 very unreliable.

Bought the 2013 320d m sport 15 months ago with 55k on the clock.
Timing chain snapped 67k
Cracked manifold 68k
Switch cluster replacement 72k

So far it has cost me £5,000 in repairs.

Had no problems with my 330ci e90.

You replace the fuel pump, preventatively?

BTW, is there a fuel filter we should be changing at regular intervals? Let me guess: It's part of the fuel pump assembly.

Dang.

Intake or exhaust manifold?
What is a "switch cluster"?

The exhaust manifold.

The switch cluster has the indicator and window wiper stalks, basically a “driver restraint error” appeared. I got it checked and they had to diagnose which turned out to be some faulty wiring. They couldn’t guarantee that the airbag would deploy in an accident so had to get a new part.

Im now at 4500 miles and 8 months from new.

I had a heavily misted headlight replaced under warranty. Nothing else..as should be expected from an 8 month old car :-)

2012 328i N26. 134k miles. Put a few hundred miles on it since purchase. Seems rock solid other than needing one repair which is front struts and rear shocks. Will eventually need front pads and rotors. Previous owner maintained it at the dealer. Needs basics like brake flush differential oil change and transmission fluid serviced. Cooling system looks good and engine bay is nice and clean.. no visible oil leaks. Hoping to reach 200k out of it.

2013 (September build) f32 435i here.
Engine oil changed every 9,000km (5600 miles). Currently on 75,000kms (46600 miles).

No major issues - transmission serviced, spark plugs changed at 50,000kms (31000 miles)

Car has never skipped a beat. Only issue was the infamous steering knock on drivers side over rigid bumps (reflectors on road) most f30's get which bmw recognize is a design flaw but is no safety concern. It's just an "acoustic defect" as per the dealer. Bmw repair kit is available for cheap. Indy supplied and installed for $350 and it fixed the issue. Had to take it back a couple times as the replacement part was screwed on too tight and didn't allow steering wheel to re center properly while driving/turning.

Apart from the steering knock and a creaky seat which was replaced under warranty, my f32 is running like a dream in the 5 years I've owned it!! Absolutely love this thing.

My February 14, 2012 Munich manufactured 328i (rwd) has been rock solid and a real joy to own. But it has not been without some issues...

It bought it CPO in December 2017 with 67,000 km (41,631 miles). Everything was original factory, nothing was replaced by the original owner, except the front brake pads (not rotors!).

It came equipped with both the "Premium Package" and the "Executive Package" and the heated steering wheel. Basically, it's very loaded. The Harman Kardon sound system is so wicked, it keeps me motivated to keep her rolling indefinitely

I now have 146,000 km (90720 miles), give or take, on the odometer. I do alot of highway driving. It still looks great (finishing is excellent) and runs like new. There's surprizingly no rust, no dings, just the usual highway sand blast effect on the front end.

Aside from routine maintenance (fluids, filters, plugs), here's what I've replaced so far:

Expected Costly "Consumables" Expenses:

at 131,144 km (81489 miles)...
1. Replaced REAR brake rotors, pads and sensors (full service)

at 139,267 km (86536 miles)...
2. New Pirelli P7 Cinturato tires. I would say I got my money's worth on the original set!! They're run flats and ride quality is admittedly a bit harsh over bumps, but I still like the way they perform and wear.
3. Replaced REAR shock absorbers, spring pads, guide supports, fasteners, etc.
4. Replaced FRONT struts, spring pads, guide supports, fasteners, etc. (re-used original coil springs--they're fine)

at 140,043 km (87018 miles)...
5. Replaced FRONT brake rotors, pads and sensors (full service)

Unexpected Expenses:

at 110,051 km (68382 miles)...
6. Replaced the defective horns, both the low frequency and high frequency units, under extended warranty. This appears to be a common problem with the F30. Mine stopped working after a car wash in the winter time. I am convinced water and ice caused it. Who knows.

at 126,793 km (78785 miles)...
7. Replaced LH exterior mirror assembly (just after my extended warranty expired!!). I will only say that my anus is about 2 inches wider after I bent over to pay out of pocket!! As with the horns, the mirror motor stopped working (folding in/out) after a car wash in the winter time.

at 145,800 km (90595 miles)...
8. Replaced the gas tank vent valve, as it was sticking since original purchase at 67,000 km. It would trigger a check engine light. It did this only infrequently, so I ignored it. However, the problem became more and more frequent as of late, so I replaced it. It wasn't a terribly expensive fix, and I noticed improvements to fuel efficiency! It was a worthwhile fix.

"Bling"
9. Replaced the factory chrome radiator grills with gloss black BMW OEM performance grills last month. No reason. Just 'cause.

So, in summary, except for the $1400 LH mirror assembly bill, it's been a fantastic car. With new tires, shocks and brakes all around, she's good for another 100,000 km. With so many gizmos and gadgets on these things, expect something to break. I have owned many different brands of cars over the years, and this one has been the most reliable. Yes, when something breaks, you pay double. The price of BMW ownership I guess.

Struts and shocks at 134,000 miles is not a repair. They're consumables and due for replacement. Nice to see your's is going strong! Dealer maintained is key. Make sure you replace all the fluids: brake, engine oil, transmission and coolant flush.

Mine also has no leaks anywhere.
