Dynamic sequential mirror turn signals and DRL

Found this on Ali express. It looks like it can also act as a DRL when it's not being used as a turn signal.

I only see 2 sellers and 1 or 2 purchases and no reviews so far.

Has anyone tried it and can talk towards if it's drop in wiring or if it requires some splicing or more?
Also curious how bright the DRL really is

Searchbar has your answer. Search for sequential and you'll see a lot of results. I can't figure out how to link that from mobile app

don't know about the ones you posed above OP. My guess is you gotta splice I have the ones below https://www.uniquestyleracings.com/s...roduct_id=1305

they are drop in and play but they are just the turn signal not the drl or puddlelights.

Daytime running lights on the side mirrors would be awesome. Following thread for updates.

i think you need to add some wires to the mirror for the drl to work, not just plug and play..

Hello mate, if that's the store you're talking about (.com/item/4000809885419.html), the instruction state, that it is plug and play. It comes with an unfamiliar wiring harness, on top of the dynamic turn signal. I did install regular dynamic turn signal last year, and they didn't come with that extra wiring harness. Maybe you should ask the seller for installation instructions?

FYI all, I bought them and yes they need you to splice. They're sitting pretty in my garage until I figure out whether it's worth it to see how to snake them into the door or another power source. I'm hesitating to splice into any of the other power sources in the mirror itself.

I also purchased this exact listing. In the end I was unable to run the wires from the side mirror to the headlight for the DRL function. I ended up using wiring connectors so that I have a Sequential turn signal and flashing puddle light.... Finding a way to connect them to the headlight was extremely frustrating and is going to take a lot more effort than expected. I now realize why I never see any bmw's with DRL side mirror lights haha. Also, if you don't have prior work or knowledge with wiring this will be a challenging task.

Did you ever figure out a way to get the DRL function working?

After coding the mirror LEDs as marker lights perhaps using the below coding can also enable the mirror LEDs as DRL?

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1378397

"Mirror with DRL as following

Mapping_universal_1_output > 10
Mapping_universal_2_output > 11"

If you use the above code please share your results here.

I coded my mirror lights as markers 2 years ago and have had 0 issues.

I would like to code/modify my mirror LEDs to be DRL white with ignition ON or LB and blink sequential amber.

Which ones, the sequential amber mirror lights? I got mine from Aliexpress. I got mine 2 years ago and they are still running strong. I code mine to stay ON with markers and low beam.

It could probably be done via mapping, but you'd need to know the CAFD lines to code and of course how to code.

The link to the same one you have would be great please particularly given you've managed to code them to stay on in drl type mode.

Thanks heaps in advance

Doesn't sound like something that could be easily done?

It would be very easily done with Bimmercode in expert mode, or with ESys, if you know what to change. That you'd probably have to find out from someone who's done it. The beauty of the system that BMW uses is that any lamp can be assigned to any duty without the need to change any wiring. The trick lies in knowing how.

IMO, it might be harder than just coding. The mirror lights that also have white LED for DRL and puddle lights both have separate (+) to trigger them ON. So, 3 (+) in total, one connecting directly to the OEM mirror LED wiring harness (amber turn signal, which CAN be coded to stay ON with markers and headlights) and 2 more, one for puddle and one for white DRL. Unless we find a seller with dual color turn signal module built into the LED mirror lights (like dual color LED turn signals), we will most likely have to splice the 2 positives. One from HL DRL + and one from puddle light +. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I done have picture hosting, so no go on posting pics.

I ordered 2 years so I cannot find the EXACT item. But before buying, I looked for a buyer which sold most of that item and with the most favorable reviews.

I'd figure it out if I had any interest in doing that mod, but I don't. Before investing in it I'd want to see full instructions on how to do it from someone who did.
