Sort of like an intake, which seems like a waste of money and leads to issues.
What results with a FMIC will I really get?
It will keep the air approx 20degrees cooler than the stock one which results in higher horsepower maintained... You know how your car is quicker when you first start it up and then it mellows out a little once it warms up... well this will always make it feel more like when you start it up... a step-cored has a lower pressure loss than stock.... way better throttle response... trust me ... well worth it... you must be coming back to the threads... this has been discussed big time in the last month... Just do it... here is one example of a step core.. jeez "O" petes... you already have a DP.... usually it's the other way around... lol...

P.s. on the charger... you really only need a 6-8amp charger... charge the battery full and keep it on and then flash... Probably go with this one since homedepot is right down the street...

For $300 seems like a steal...better throttle response is a good thing. Figure, upgrading the FMIC would give me bragging rights as well and give me another project to do. Like I said, Intake is not worth it and an exhaust might not give me the sound I like ( I like the sound now with the DP), so, I can never be the "cool" guy with FBO.

BTW..I love the DP..it's almost like I can breathe with it. Such a huge improvement in sound.

As for the charger--I have a 10 amp charger but was planning on hooking up another car with jumpers. You think my slow charger 10 amp guy would be sufficient?

It's a very noticeable difference and I bet you'll notice it even more on the JB4.. you should be running map 2 on your JB4 once you get the new FMIC... well worth it... If you have a good battery the 10amp will be just fine...

honestly from what I've read and everything... JB4 is just as fast as a stock flash... so I'd work on getting the FMIC and see what your JB4 is running like... do some logging and post it here and I'm sure someone will tell you if your running good or not... then go MHD/ BM3 custom tune if not satisfied... then if not still go PS2 which I might do next spring..

and your right... don't need all that other stuff... just the FMIC

I find map 5 superior to map 2. Jb4 as fast as stock flash? Not sure what you mean. Jb4 on any map is much better than stock.

No no no... I meant fast as an OTS tune from MHD/BM3... I'm no expert at JB4...read map2 with 93octane and FBO which is what you will basically be once you upgrade the fmic was the way to go... either way I feel you should see a significant improvement once you upgrade ... Let us know..

Did you connect the charger under the hood or directly to battery in the trunk?

FBO + bm3 OTS E30 map draggy results

0-60 4.06sec
1/4 mile 12.13sec @ 116.8mph

Not bad for stock turbos. With better tires might get into the 11s and sub 4 sec 0-60.
