I'm assuming all internet shopping is going to be closed down. Working in a warehouse and delivering bikes isn't going to count as key worker !

I thought online retailers were the only ones that were along with for essential s like supermarkets and pharmacies? This will see the end of many local bike shops and other independents retailers.
I'm hoping to order an X box if get bored in a few days once I've done my chores. |

Damn it.
I'm struggling now. My daily exercise can often be a 30 to 70 miles ride. I'm not sure if lycrad up on Cannondale Supersix will be seen as a bit of a pisstake when the whole country is on a lockdown. Not worried about enforcement too much but public perception and the pitchfork mentality. |

Bike shops can stay open. However you have a bike so maybe stick with what you have for now so you don't have to go to the shop. if you get back in to the bike go and visit the shops once things are back to normal?

I feel your pain. I commute on my bike. Not now though, work has closed for now. I'll be out on my Ribble for a couple of hours today. Be interesting to see if cyclists are seen in a different light now we are advised to take exercise once a day, alone or with family members, with government approval.

When I went out yesterday it's certainly smoother with less vibration than my old Boardman but that was on 23mm tyres and running at 100 PSI. This has 28 mm tyres running at 85 PSI |

Anyone have an early Aluminium framed bike?
It's a wonder I was able to have kids after putting miles on that. Stiff yes, compliant... nope! God bless carbon!

Seeing all these beautiful, modern machines makes me very, very envious.
Showing the contrast to current styles and trends, here's a shot of me in my first ever race. An evening 'Interclub 10' back in June 1960. God that's almost 60 years ago. Anyone remember Hetchins frames with the 'curly back stays' ? p. it was a 'fixed gear' event and I won 1st Handicap with a time of 25:30. not bad for a 14 year old.

Although not an early framed Alu bike I still ride a 2012 CAAD10. Frame weight is about 1.2kg, I mainly use it as my winter bike nowadays. Things have without doubt moved on in the comfort stakes as I've never really noticed that much difference over the carbon framed Supersix
Supersix - Campag wheels on a Shimano groupset ..don't care I tell ya. A few spacers appearing the older I get, even had the bars on the CAAD10 flipped for about a year after a back op. |
