Huge question regarding my spec (2017 330i GT)
Hey guys, new on the forums. Had a question because my 2017 330i GT is a little confusing. Bought the car in 2019, was amazing until totaled a couple months back by a lady on her phone
-Not an M sport car (as seen by the bumper) -Has a full carbon interior and exterior trim -M performance stitched into the dash with alcantara and carbon, m performance stickers on each side. -Shadowline grille but chrome trim around the windowsills? -Car is fully loaded, but not an m sport, and somehow has exposed carbon all over the interior and glossed carbon on the exterior (see images below). Is this normal? Did the original owner modify the car? I thought only M sport vehicles go carbon trim. [I have NOT touched or modified the car at all]. Not a crazy car, just wanted to know what's going on with the spec. Thanks for the help. Sorry for the weird cover-up, was a picture of my ID that I wanted to cross out. Check the exposed carbon and the Alcantara. I thought you could only get this on m sport cars? https://ibb.co/T8hCyHw https://ibb.co/0DF70F2 https://ibb.co/dDXkS3z https://ibb.co/ctXpMMn Final auction of my car It was slow but comfortable and very dear to me. My first car, bought as a gift from my father. Never had any issues and put over 40k miles on it. https://stat.vin/cars/WBA8Z9C58HG453173 |

https://www.bmwbrochures.co.uk/0114/...c2d4217623.pdf You could have a check here to see which options they would have gone for. If it's not on, then it's probably a mod (correct me if I'm wrong!)
From your VIN these are the options: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/wba8z9c58hg453173 |

suitofgold already provided the decoder with your answers, just wanted to add that all of the modifictions / parts of the car that caused you confusion are the most easily changable . The carbon dash / interior pieces and the grille were all swapped. The car is a Lux line trim (hense the chrome around the windows) and would have come with a chrome grill and wood interior pieces.

One option is straight from BMW as most option inteiror trims can be purchased, thats big $$$ though. Another options is someone parting out a car or selling the parts out of a car that had the trim you want, have to dig on ebay / online for second hand parts. Then there is the "ebay / Aliexpress" aftermarket copy kits. Straight from BMW OEM will be the most money but also solid quality, there might be some aftermarket option that are high quality as well but you'll have to start searching.

For me, at least on 2019s the fender vent is the giveaway (chrome for Luxury, black/body color for Sport). Grills can be changed easily, not sure how involved it is to change the fender vent. |

Is there a good cross reference somewhere that shows all of the common parts, and any of the unique parts, between the standard 3 series and the 3 series GTs of a given year?
