Racechip GTS box reviews / opinions
I pick up my first BMW F31 335d tomorrow and I have already been looking at how I can tune it for about the last two months as I can't leave my cars alone. Anyway I have been looking at the Racechip GTS box as I like the look of the app function that allows me to change the map depending how I am driving as I do quite alot of motorway miles so dont need race mode when you are just sat at 70. So just wondered if anyone had experience of one of these boxes, do they really help the performance or economy, is the racechip box the one to go for? Thanks in advance

It fouls the computert that fuel pressure is low and gives you more power by rising it. Which is not that bad, but the shown consumption will be lower than actual and also not sure how egr regeneration mode will like it. Also injector pressures get higher, which may be the case with other tuning options too.

Map is for sure better. If you get it from a good source Racechip wont even touch it in terms of performance. Some may work, others not really - depends. I have seen some bad reviews - e.g. here from AutotopNL . These guys are quite reputable with testing cars and here you can clearly see almost no benefit when racechip is installed. No way that the car on the left has extra 50hp and 138Nm
I wanted to go the same route as you and I'm glad I didn't |

Thanks for the replys, I did have my last car mapped and the performance increase was also around 50bhp and made it totally different but I was thinking of trying the racechip this time round, but it sounds as if that's not the best idea so I should stick to mapping
