Do it is all I'd say. Never a day goes by when I regret the change. Prettier and the boot is MUCH more useful.
Service costs are broadly similar, except for the major with the costs of spark plugs adding quite a bit you the job. Do a youtube search to watch what a faf it is to do, taking half the internals out at the back of the engine bay to access the last 2 plugs.
Over the lifetime of the car, the cost is not worth worrying about imo.

Digital dash is essential, Modernising the interior big time. Other than that, plus pack for 19 inch and HK audio etc.
DONE !!!!!!

It should be free IMO - £265 if I want to add it through Connected Drive.

I don't want a touring, hence looking at the GC

Has anyone come from a 330d to 40i and noticed MASSIVE increases in running costs ???
I had a 330d xd from new, pre LCI June '15 built and changed for the F36 40i two years ago. Not noticed any increased service costs and on my usual usage the fuel consumption is only 4 mpg lower (with MPPSK). I too thought that the hatch F36 would be ideal for taking my e-MTB but I found it an issue stretching to lift it in and suffering recurrent back pain from an old injury. The open architecture of the hatch is ideal for throwing the shopping in, compared to the 3er and CA makes it easier too.
The lighter front end of the 440i and the LCI suspension changes (plus adaptive susp.) make it a much better drive then the pre-LCI xD 330d IMHO.

Cheers

Interesting, how does one go about getting a 25% discount on servicing. Do you buy a service from BMW UK and take a "voucher" to the dealer or something like that?

Cheers

I was using my 330D to put the bike in, its not a massive problem but using big flat pedals they get caught under the parcelshelf when trying to get it out

I've seen my mate put his e bike into a golf and its loads better. So I was going to get a golf GTI Mk7.5. But couldn't bring myself to buy one and also the boot is quite small when the seats up and might be too small for a family car

So when I saw the 440 GC boot it was a no brainer. Ticks the boxes for me

Whats quite crazy is the price drop on the car. It would have been £49K new and with only 4000 miles and 8 months old if over £20K off

I had a mk7.5 gti as a family car, and you are right with 2 kids in the back and me being 6ft.1 there wasn't really enough room for everyone to fit in comfortably. (That was soon sorted after 3 weeks ownership and missing a giveaway sign) I moved to a 430i GC and it was miles better in terms of space...took me a good 4 months to figure out both half's of the parcel shelf come out hahaha

I think they drop a massive amount quickly and then steady out, I had my 430i for a year and only lost 500 when I p/x it for my X3M40i ....have a feeling I might lose more on the x3 lol

Enjoy the 440i :-D

That offered this on later cars - basically M sport plus with some cosmetic bits - black grills, mirrors and the seat belts from the M competition.

On the car play - i paid for life when i got mine - however i noticed it had it to expire at the end of my connected drive (would have been oct this year) But a few emails to the dealer/ connected drive it changed to life.

I've given up lifting the e-MTB into the F36, just nick my wifes WAV with a hydraulic ramp and tailgate. Wheel the bike in upright and tie it to the side.

Same price drop with mine, 4 months and 2400 miles and the "spec" price dropped £20k.

You book online though bmw keep an eye on their prices they do it all the time but don’t really announce it. It will be a long weekend offer. Just take a snapshot when you book so you have it to hand when you have the service done.

And by year three it'll be like mine - a further 50% off what you paid in part ex. (engine aside our cars are nearly identical features/spec wise).

Don't worry about the cost. This is man maths time.

Really not sure how they can still call it 'road fund license'!
Due to the state of our roads!!
It also puts people off buying relatively 'expensive' cars (£40k +)
I managed to creep under the 'barrier' by purchasing a 2017 car, it's a farce really as my car is only £205/year to tax, however, the car was £63k when it was born! Personally, I just don't like donating money to the Government!

I think it’s called Vehicle Excise Duty now. It’s simply car tax.
