Can't perform ftm reset

"perform reset" is greyed out..filled all tires up to correct pressure.

I sold the OEM wheels. not sure if they had the sensors in it or not..

Also can't use eco or sport modes..

2016 340i , Canadian car.

anyone experience this and have a solution ?

Yeah man If your oem wheels had the sensors you won't be able to get a reading of the tire pressure on your new tires and you won't be able to switch driving modes. You can buy aftermarket sensors though they aren't that expensive

i actually put aftermarket sensors in and didn't work, i had this problem last year when i put on my winters. i was under warranty so dealer fixed it. worked all winter, ended up buying aftermarket summer wheels, no problems, then this year put back the aftermarket winters and it came back.

not under warranty anymore so doubt they will help out.

Not all sensors are the same. If you have the wrong sensors they won't work. 2014 US and Canadian builds did not use the same sensors.

The Canadian cars don't come with TMPS. They use rolling circumference as a means to determine low pressure, so there is no sensors.

Odd that it would be greyed out -- never seen that before. Did you try removing the negative battery terminal for a couple minutes to reset everything?

Big Bump..

What ended up happening with this?

I have the same problem with my F80 M3. Greyed out FTM reset. Cannot stop constant gong warning while driving. Tire pressure is fine. Even put TPMS sensors in to try to prevent the gong, no resolution.

On US cars if there is no tpms you can select all modes. If tpms has low pressure then sport mode is disabled. But you can put transmission in sport mode still.

As mentioned already…Canada does not require TPM sensors…so if your car has that option (S2VBA) it will be on your option list and when you pull up the TPM screen…it will actually say TPM . When you have the indirect system that uses wheel circumference and the ABS wheel sensors…your screen will say FTM (flat Tyre monitor).

The two systems are:
Direct System: TPM/RDC system which uses sensors in each wheeln that sends specific data to the RDC module[*]Indirect System: FTM/RPA system which uses wheel circumference & ABS wheel speed sensors
You tell which system you have by pulling up the screen…it reveals in writing which system you have.
