n20/n26 intake manifold

Has anyone flow benched the OEM piece? Honestly curious as every other F30 motor has an aftermarket option and wondered why the n20/n26 didn't receive the same offering. Trying to figure out how to increase power without opening the block more and more.

That’s a great question, I was actually wondering the same thing. Also is the n55 throttle body bigger and if so can it be retrofitted for then20

Haven't flow tested however i have designed a new manifold just sourcing someone to make it.

i wonder what it does. Might as well find a machine shop locally and see what it actually does. If it flows well for what it is, benefits might be negligent unless you are looking to add ports in the runners for seamless additions.

Thats the main benefit yeah, to have everything in one place i know n54 and n55 guys gained abit of top end HP from their aftermarket manifolds. But having everything in one device is key 👌

I was reading this regarding a mani for a n54 from doc race and it got me thinking.

I do recall you were making something to go in between the manifold to add injectors but I don't remember everything.

I am making both, going to test how viable 3D printed nylon CF is for car parts, my prototype Port injection bracket is printed now i am testing it on the car, my intake manifold has been designed and i am going to print it when i get some time, PI bracket is more important at this stage.

Yeah DOC has some good results on their setup!

I'm actually thinking of getting a skunk 2 intake manifold, that's built with velocity stacks, and it has provisions for 2 fuel rails. I would have to get a machine shop to cut the bottom and then weld an aluminum n20 flange

Bit more involved than just that, You need to also ensure the ECU stays cool. Factory ECU has a heat Spreader in the factory intake manifold. It uses the intake charge to cool the ECU down. The intake runners also need to be spaced the same as the N20 Cylinder Heads, and also match up the DBW throttle to the Intake Plenum

The DBW throttle I had already figured out but the factory ecu is going to be a problem.
