How much heavier is it compare to a 328i or 335i? If only a couple of hundred pounds, there is enough adjustment to compensate for the weight.

Took a quick look online, it seems that the 330e is 160kg (350ish pounds) heavier that the 328i (now 330i) equivalent.

Did you say most of the weight is in the rear of the car? The pre-load position is only 22 mm so you have plenty of adjustments for the added weight of your car. Spring used is a 160n/mm and that is also plenty. |

FWIW i have KW coilovers for 335i on my AH3 which has a 200lbs battery in the boot, so similar situation to your 330e vs. 328i and it's fine, i suspect it's a little lower than a 335i with the same rear height settings but that's really all I can say about it.

There is enough adjustability to compensate for the weight difference.

Geez, I really really really want these.... The only problem is finding a competent installer that isn't charging a grand to install these around here.

Hello BMW Experts!
A few questions, pls.... - Do you get to choose your spring rate? - At the highest position, is it as high as any stock 3-series suspensions (we like snow)? - Can a normal person install these, or is a garage needed? TIA! Murf Last edited by Littlebear; 10-30-2021 at 06:03 AM.. |

I’m a big fan of Ohlins DFV or otherwise known as Road and Track. I have a set fitted to my Nissan 350z and handling is simply amazing.
I have been looking at KW DDC which appears to be a nice setup however I do not like the very low ride height and the fact that you cannot adjust height and preload independently where as you can on Öhlins. Does the Ohlins F30 model fit an F32 non adaptive damping model? |

What’s the interest of adjusting preload? Never thought about that. And yes i wish my DDCs had a bit more room for adjustment on the high side :-/

Basically as you apply more preload the spring has more tension and vice versa. More preload does not necessarily make the spring stiffer but changes the behaviour characteristics of the spring. Article below explains.

For anyone considering Ohlins Road & Track you may be interested in my review of them on my F31 330D.
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ins+road+track They are outstanding for fast road use and occasional track sessions - I highly recommend them. A quality passive setup is hard to beat and shows just how wrong BMW got the EDC/adaptive setup on the F series. I doubt I'll ever spec OEM adaptive dampers again.

Yes, you can run it at stock height or even a bit higher. Yes, you should be able to do this if you have all the right tools. You will need a professional wheel alignment afterwards. |

Walmart just like Amazon sells products from other merchants, or - acts as a lead generator by displaying content only - no inventory. This set is sold by another merchant.

Ohlins, as far as I know, do not allow their authorized dealers to sell through Amazon or Wallmart.
