Hi all,

Was hoping to get some inputs and hopefully make up my mind about what color to choose for my calipers when i powder coat them.

I have an Alipne White 420d and recently bought a complete set of blue M-Sport front and rear calipers. They are in good condition and there is really no reason to repaint them, but I personally dont think the blue match with the white that well. And also i like to be unique.

Summer wheels is going to be black 763M style wheels, and i want you guys to also keep in mind that i am planning to wrap the v-brace in the same color as the calipers and want this to look good aswell.

I know there is split opinions about the v-brace mod, but its not that common here and with the right color i think it looks very good.

Feel free to comment and give me your opinions!

Here is some of the options im concidering:

I'd be proud of your blue calipers and leave them as is.

If I knew bmws and saw your calipers any other color than authentic, I'd think you were running on base calipers that you painted and I'd think much less of you as a person.

Seriously, I am of the opinion that if you add too many highlights to your car, you'll draw the viewer's eye away from the car 'in total,' including you. If you want the ladies to think 'nice car,' leave it classy, not flashy. Too much bling, ladies might think you're thinking too much about the car and won't think about her.

Sorry for my opinion...I am older than you, no doubt so I often don't think clearly.

My vote would be to stay with the OEM blue as well. Of the pictures shown, I'd go with the yellow in the third picture. That yellow is common to brake kits and OEM brakes found on other brands and wouldn't look out of place if it was an upgrade kit...which in this case it isn't... The metallic gold and purple, IMO are just tacky.

I could see painting/powder coating the calipers if they were the standard gray ones since they tend to look dingy over time, but not the upgraded performance options which already come painted.

Thanks for your opinions guys! Maybe ill test them om and see how i feel before i make any decisions.

I do also have the "Phoenix Yellow" color in mind that the M-performance upgrade kit comes in. Really like that color aswell. And that would technically still be OEM with new logos on them

What do you think about that?

Also, the colors in the pictures above is just inspirational. Doesent have to be them exactly. But its something like that i have in mind.

If someone has any other suggestions, feel free to tell them!

Off the wall suggestion - white color matched calipers. Well especially pop on black wheels.

A huge pain!

Black brake dust would be really visible on white calipers and you'd have to get them perfectly clean at every wash to keep them from looking terrible. This would be an issue on yellow too.

I find it hard enough to keep my blue calipers clean and looking good despite the darker color hiding the build up better than many light colors.

Yup, keeping them clean will be challenging!
But OP didn't mention cleaning as an issue in the original post so I gave him a suggestion assuming he lives in a car wash 🤣🤣🤣

Here is the end result! Powder and clear coated in a goldish colour that really pops in the sunshine! Can't wait to get them installed.
