Nice! More torque and $80 less than leading competitor. Looks good to me!

Just curious, how does one do two dyno runs with two tunes in the same day? Don't you have to drive 50 miles before the tunes fully activate?

I didn't have the luxury of time to do 50 miles between tunes, but as you can see there's definitely a change immediately from plugging in either box. In earlier reviews of BMS people said it gets better over time. If someone else on the forums has free access to dyno, I hope they'll post a more accurate set of measurements. I just wanted to give back to community an idea of how Dinan compares to leading competitor.

Looks like the BMS runs are just started at a higher rpm. They seem comparable. I'd be curious to see how the dtronics stacks up against both.

I wasn't sure if that would matter. If they're started higher revs wouldn't the figures just start at higher hp and lbft? Not sure how dynos actually work tbh so genuinely asking.

Doesnt the latest bms stage 1's run 4psi. The dinan was 3 psi. So the dinan would have surpassed the bms if set to 4

Dinan was set to factory setting of +3PSI. We did a couple of runs with it set to Stock and it was right on top of factory stock. I didn't run the +4PSI race setting as Dinan recommends 93 fuel for that one.

Noob question...this is what we call a "piggy back" tune right?

Installed the Dinan today, took almost 5 whole minutes. Real beast of an install... Noticed a difference immediately, even in comfort, definitely pulled harder, and in sport, much more of a difference. Yes, this is all butt dyno, but when I got on the freeway I was almost to a hundred when before I would have been at 80... Didn't even realize it had accelerated that quickly. For the price and the time it took to install, it's money well spent.

Only downside was I had to add 3 additional tie wraps to keep things neat.

Well I also installed a pair of gloss back M4 grilles at the same time and that 'should' be at least a 5hp bump, so it should end up being a wash!!

Good news! I should be expecting even higher results with Race setting and 93 gas.

2013 328i. 92 octane Chevron. Runs were done in 5th gear (1.285 ratio) in Sport+. Dinan unit at factory setting of + 3PSI. Ambient temp in the shop 92-94F during 1hr session. Humidity 15%. Dynojet 428 at Carb Connection in Kirkland, WA. Run files are available here.

3 best runs with BMS vs 3 best runs with Dinan. They overlay pretty well, except for best Dinan run picking up torque between 2-3k. It probably has more to do with my in-experienced dyno foot than the chips.
I cant wait to see what this does on my 335!

Indeed! Will you be using the Race setting with 93 gas?
