Anybody aware of anyway to remove the speed gov. without a JB4 or BM3 type thingy? All the old forum stuff I found was no help.

What's the main difference with Sports +? I thought it just disabled traction control, but does it change anything else? I was told regular Sport is just the pedal mapping changed with DTC on.

Yeah so you can disable DTC completely by holding down the button for 10 seconds, but the issue there is that it puts the car into a fully manual mode if your shifter is to the left. The car won't automatically shift IIRC when it hits max revs. I'm not sure if you're in Sport mode then shift to the left if it keeps specific pedal maps or anything.
Anyway, So if Sports + is only with DTC removed, then technically you can put your car into normal Sport and hold down the DTC to remove it and you'll be the same as Sports +. I think the only change from Sport to Sport + would be stiffer steering. I plan on coding Sport + into my car today or tomorrow, so I can anecdotally report back in a few days. |

You could do what you mentioned in the second paragraph, but in DTC off mode, you don't get the throttle mapping or shift patterns that you do in sport mode. You can't overlay the two modes. In other words, you can only be in sport mode (DTC on, tighter steering, throttle response, and shift patterns) or DTC off mode (DTC off, tighter steering, comfort mode throttle and shift mapping). You can put the shifter to the left in DTC off mode, but that will only fix the shift pattern issue, the throttle mapping will always be in comfort setting if you're in DTC off mode.

Yeah normal DTC off mode reverts to comfort for the more linear acceleration. I prefer to drive around in sport+ because it allows me to have the twitchy throttle response and still throw the back end out on turns and on ramps

So I've read that you can with BimmerCode but there are like 35 lines of code or something to change. I just bought an Enet Cable today for Esys and will probably use that. I think I tried to code Sport + a few weeks ago with Bimmercode but there are a few lines that I couldn't find or aren't available with the Advanced option there. I did code SAT and felt like I do have a difference, but I threw on my JB4 and SAT together so I couldn't tell you the individual SAT feeling.

*VERY IMPORTANT* The EGS changes. Those changes are for SAT mode, which you can do already on Bimmercode. Chances are that you don't have any EGS/3000 Applikation option to change in Bimmercode, even under the Advanced settings. So make sure to select the SAT on through Bimmercode's normal setting, and then code everything as he has. Very simple, took 6 minutes. As for the driving. Something feels different, and I can't say what. It is mildly different than Sport. Holding down the gas, with regular Sport you can feel the shifts in my car. With Sport +, the shifts are way more fluid. It does feel better. Steering is definitely very tight though, I'd be careful if you wanna whip it around corners. I've only driven for maybe ~15minutes with Sport +, so I'm gonna give it some time and chances are I'll notice more of a difference. |

Not sure, I don't have it lol. I didn't mean you will realize a subjective benefit, I wouldn't know. I meant objectively, you will be able to do something you wouldn't have been able to do before if you code in sport +, that's the benefit I was talking about.

My car basically drives in one of two modes: Sport+ or DSC-off. I've attached a great chart that shows what exactly the modes do for us. I personally love driving in Sport+ because you feel more of the car and less of the computer correcting it for you. When we go to the strip, I use DSC-Off to ensure the car doesn't take over whatsoever and I get the launch I need.
Also, a bit from BMW: "A further button allows the driver to change the DSC settings. Selecting TRACTION mode, for example, makes it much easier to start off on loose surfaces or in deep snow. In this mode as well as in SPORT+ mode, the Dynamic Stability Control thresholds are raised and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) is activated. It is also possible to shut off DSC altogether. The electronic limited-slip function for the rear differential can then provide extra-sporty acceleration out of corners or hairpins."

Yeah after driving for a bit, I'm loving Sport +. It feels exactly as it is, sporty. The move from Sport to + isn't crazy, but you can 100% feel a difference in your acceleration and steering. It feels raw. Great chart as well.

You definitely feel it on turns depending on how fast you take them lol.

Really? Never new Sport mode made a difference suspension wise on base cars.

I don't think the base cars have the adaptive suspension at all. The steering in Sport + is super super tight compared to Comfort. I can't really feel the suspension, but going around corners is kind of scary in my base car, so that leads me to believe we (base cars) don't have the adaptive.
