There aren't 10 updates a year! Only 2 per year on CIC I believe.

I was referring to the year and what I assumed the next number meant, the month. Obviously not then. We are hardly in 2019 yet though!

Downloaded (torrent), generated key and installed, no problems. Took about 50 minutes to load but just let it do it's thing whilst driving to work, changing the USB stick when prompted

I really have no idea what maps I'm entitled to or, what I get or what is free, or what I have to pay for.

I go on the download manager and its just says 2018-1, which I down loaded and installed.

Should I expect anymore, or are these threads from people who subscribe or have a package from BMW?

Is it a complete lottery?

EDIT - so I went to BMW site, seems I have a map subscription for another year... I just don't qualify for these updates it seems - subject to level of Nav I suppose.

I haven't had a chance to download them yet. With the 2 year sub from BMW connected drive, I can use the download manager but getting them from the torrent and hex'ing your VIN is just as simple for the tech savvy.

In the 2018-2, I noticed they had a new junction on the M1 (past Luton), the new M6 to M56 link road and the hamburger roundabout when you enter Slough from J6.

Would be interesting to know what's new in 2019-1.

Can confirm EUROPE Next 2019-1 is available from the download manager. Says 26.84 GB.

didn't even know there was a download manager - is that PC only?

If I have map updates OTA for the UK and I never plan to go to Europe, do I need to update via USB or is it the same result?

Thanks for the heads up. My subscription for the usb map update expired 20.12.18, so at 11:30pm last night I was frantically on the update manager downloading it. Managed to get the update and installed in car this morning.

My car also has Route maps (Business Nav?). I assume they will be available soon for 2019-1 seeing the other map types are now available.

I guess the OTA UK and USB Europe might be on different timetables? Is there a general timing/schedule listed anywhere?
