Have used their ATF before and thought it was quite good. Thinking of trying one of their engine oils.
Only one site online suggests 0w30 for the 435d. Castrol. Shell suggests 5w30 or 5w40. Mobil 1. Another 5w30. Liqui Moly have always been good on recommendations. So... 1. Has anyone tried a LM oil? 2. Anyone running 5w40? I realise this may vary according to country/ climate. Thanks ps. Found this helpful: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343914 |

Ok well yesterday I changed my oil to 5w40 (Top Tec 4100).
I have always run 0w30 without problems. My amateur observations are the car felt sluggish. Almost so bad it made me want to drain it all out and go back to Castrol 0w30. However, when I hit the highway... I don't think it has ever been that smooth at 70mph. The engine is quieter and there is less diesel type rattle / vibration. Considering 90 per cent of my driving is highway to get to work... I figured I would live with it. It's probably protecting the engine better too. For anyone considering the swap I found these two resources helpful: https://www.zoniv.com/0w40-vs-5w40/ https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/...6&t=163352 |
