So your getting the complete center section/third member/pumpkin & not just the LSD ??

You're getting this?

Not just this?

BTW anyone looked into Wavetrac I noticed they have it for the F30/32
Have one in my GTI and it works great!!! really hooks up in the corners

Very nice. I'm trying to justify this expense. I might just have to see how Vegas goes this summer.

Awesome , That's something I can easily do myself in that case

Do you have to give Quaife the one from your car

Anyone knows the price of MP LSD in Europe?
It's about 25% over Quaife here.

We were to guy's tracking last week. Both 335's. One with Quaife and one with bmw's diff.
We're NOT Pro 's but none of us had difficulties maneging our diff.'s
Both are just adding so Much more handling and increasing the Fun-Factor.
Get any and be happy.

Yes, either you send your diff. To Quaife, (long Down time), or you pay a deposit and have your car running again after three Four hours.

I totally agree (I was the other guy ). Check my footage from the day in this post: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1116614

I tried tracking the car without the LSD as well last year and there was a huge difference. Actually to a degree where I would argue that the first upgrade to do is the LSD and the second is the PPK (or other tune).

Exactly we are not pros. I have tried to find some footage from my tracking and I have found two situations that were alike and put them in the video below. One with the LSD and one without. The "outcome" is quite different.

This short video shows the effect of a mechanical limited slip differential (LSD). While sliding a little in the curve the car keeps forward momentum due to the LSD. If the car still had its original open differential it would have made wheel spin on the left wheel. Then the electronic slip diff would have used the brakes to slow down the spinning wheel and move momentum from the left wheel to the right wheel. That could have the effect of making the right wheel spinning which again would cause the eletronic slip diff also to slow down the right wheel (by using the right brake). The result would therefore be that the exit speed would have been way slower if the wheels were spinning with an open diff (as seen in the end of the video).

Maybe it doesn't look like much but there is a huge difference in the feel and confidence towards the car. With a LSD the car is more predictable when driving it on the egde.

I've looked in the states and haven't been able to find a complete swap. I'm thinking of going with the MSLSD since I can get everything within 3 days and installed.

Tuner Motorsport offers Quaife complete box exchange. So call them.

Only a complete Diff box exchange can be done easy by a garage.
Changing the inner LSD part needs a lot of know-how because the Crown wheel is welded, in all the BMW's produced after 2007:

I just found this on Turner, Part #: F3X-335-435-MANUAL-DIFFERENTIAL(http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-21...l-upgrade.aspx). There's a core charge and they give you 30 days to return your stock differential. Now the question is which slip option to go with.
Limited Slip Options
No limited slip upgrade, keep the open diff.
2 clutch LSD, Add $2,000.00 (USD)
3 clutch LSD, Add $2,300.00 (USD)
3 clutch LSD with variable ramp angles, Add $2,700.00 (USD)
Quaife helical LSD, Add $1,400.00 (USD)
OS Giken Superlock multi-plate LSD, Add $2,000.00 (USD)
OS Giken TCD multi-plate LSD, Add $2,815.00 (USD).

Any suggestions from the group? I track my car occasionally and autocross.

Thanks That's the route I would go is the complete swap/exchange which I could easily do myself.

Edit; Just realized it says Manual Limited Slip Gearing Upgrades, Does that mean for manual trans only??

Auto and Manual have different types of differentials. The BMW M Performance LSD is only available for Auto. Other LSD types are available for Auto and for Manual. Also for different Engine Versions.
You need to make sure you get the one that fits for your car! Very important! Auto and Manual Version are different mechanical wise.

I would recommend you contact the desired LSD distributor (i.e. Turner) and check with them, what you need.

I also have my doubts on a DIY even if you get the whole box LSD. I've read the exchange guide for the differential and then decided to rather spend like additional $400 on a proper install. (Various special tools are required, otherwise it's probably a PITA)
But that's your decision.

I'm aware of the fact that manual and automatic transmissions each have there own diff It's not my first rodeo, which is why I stated the fact that Turner only lists it for the manual trans. As for doing the swap myself I think I've got that covered (see pic) Use to work as a Mechanic for a living and I've acquired various specialty tools doing various mods on German cars over the past couple years So I think I can handle it
