What is that part what is installed under that magnet holder? My car not have that, is that some bmw optional part or something else?

Pretty sure they're referring to the angled piece that the magnetic circle is mounted to. It's made by Kuda USA - look them up.

What an excellent phone mount. I don't believe there is a better choice out there.
And, a magnet mount is incredibly convenient. I bought a phone case for my Galaxy S8+ with built-in metal for magnetic mount use.

Rennline, it's fantastic. Placement, appearance, functionality, sturdiness. It is the best mount I've had.

Call me crazy but I get away with the basic one that goes into the AC, I have a thin phone case so I throw the piece that attached to the metal behind my case and don't have to play with any adhesives. Works like a charm. I guess it doesn't really bug me because I rarely use AC in my car

Was considering the Rennline, but went with this mount that fits in the cupholder because I'm lazy.

Works well, doesn't block any controls, holds the phone tightly and still close enough that face recognition works to unlock it (with a swipe).

For those with the proclip, can you post a couple photos please. Does a magnet need to be added to the backside of your phone - not a big fan of those, I use a case on my phone so they usually dont work under the case and I dont like to kill the look of it by putting something over the case. I guess the ultimate would allow wireless charging. Anyone have this?

The kuda mounting base I posted above is with the proclip mount. No magnets necessary.

using this one from Baseus, magnetic holder and charging wireless.
Installed a 12v to 5v converter under cup holder.

Rennline phone mount is probably the best of the best in my opinion. I believe Tommy L Garage and plenty of other people run this for track use. Also feel like its the least obtrusive and integrates the best. Although it does involve removing the factory radio to install it. 5min job tops

Fair warning on track use: some track events require hard mounts for track use, and magnetic mounts don't qualify.

This seems like the best solution for my needs. Is the magnet super strong? I use a phone case and would like to keep the magnet on the inside of the cover if possible
